DJ Tyres is looking for a Tyre Fitter to join our friendly and hardworking team in Tregaron.
We’re looking for someone who is practical, reliable and takes pride in doing a job properly. You’ll be joining a busy local garage where no two days are quite the same and where providing a good, honest service to our customers is important.
We work with a wide range of tyres and vehicles, from everyday cars and 4x4s through to agricultural and commercial vehicles, so this is a varied, hands-on role with plenty of opportunity to build your experience across different types of tyre fitting.
The role will be split between working at our Tregaron workshop and attending roadside and customer call-outs, so you’ll need to be comfortable working independently when required and providing a professional service away from the garage.
Previous tyre fitting experience would be an advantage, but we’re also interested in hearing from people with good practical ability and the right attitude to learn and develop within the role.
The Role
Your main responsibility will be fitting and maintaining tyres safely and efficiently across a range of cars, 4x4s, agricultural and commercial vehicles, both at our workshop and while attending call-outs.
Day-to-day duties will include:
● Removing, fitting and replacing tyres across a range of vehicles
● Checking tyres for wear, damage and correct pressures
● Carrying out puncture repairs where safe and appropriate
● Wheel balancing
● Attending roadside and customer call-outs for tyre repairs and replacements
● Working independently on mobile jobs and dealing with customers in a friendly and professional manner
● Removing and refitting wheels correctly and safely
● Using tyre fitting machinery, hand tools and workshop equipment
● Helping customers with tyre-related queries when required
● Keeping your work area, equipment and service vehicle clean and tidy
● Supporting other members of the team during busy periods
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
● Has previous tyre fitting or garage experience, although this is not essential for the right person
● Is practical and confident working with tools and equipment
● Is hardworking, dependable and willing to get stuck in
● Is comfortable attending call-outs and working independently when required
● Can work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of work
● Works well with others and is happy to be part of a close-knit team
● Has a friendly and helpful approach towards customers
● Takes health and safety seriously
● Holds a full UK driving licence
