TURN 7 WINS AT SILVERSTONE

Round 2 of the Caterham Graduates Racing Club saw us decend on the home of the British Grand Prix, Silverstone!

We said that we were coming back with intent after a dissapointing first round at Snetterton, and we began the weekend starting from 5th position for Race 1, on a massive grid of 63 cars for the first race!

The start was terrible... all thanks to our "Wannabe Superstar" Callum who basically stalled it on the line trying to avoid a jump start following a very long red light proceedure... This over exublarence dropped us as far as 15th before Callum started to make his way back up the order.

Avoiding a spectacular accident along the way (during which fortunately nobody was injured) Callum fought his way all the way to his first win of the season in race one!!!

Race 2 saw us starting from 7th position, which quickly became 9th after another shambolic start, but following an extremely close battle finally saw Callum claim his second podium of the weekend in 3rd postion.

A huge relief and change of fortunes following the first round, and hopfully many more like this one to come.

Caterham Graduates Racing Club Round 1: Snetterton
Race report

Well, we learnt a lot in our first weekend of competitive Caterham racing, though unfortunately a power unit failure saw our promising weekend end prematurely.

Qualifying just two tenths of a second away from pole saw us line up on the second row of the grid for race one, and what followed was 20 minutes of intense pass and re-pass amongst the top 8 cars, who all broke away in their own little gaggle.

Our Turn 7 effort got as high as second, before a last lap engine failure saw us limp over the line in 8th...

Work to do ahead of the next round, but we will be back.

Yesterday we held our Spring Season Opener, and dispite the hit and miss weather, we had a great day thanks to our loyal, dedicated customers, and our good friends at Moin Moin Bakery.

The early rain cleared just in time for a group of hardy LADS to arrive over from the west, while a steady stream of locals trickled in to enjoy the "Spring weather" 🙄☔️... With others coming from as far away as Leicestershire and even Northamptonshire 🏆
