Run-flat tyres are brilliant tech… when you understand their limits.

Fitted to many BMWs, Mercedes, MINIs and other premium cars, run-flats let you keep moving after a puncture thanks to reinforced sidewalls. But they’re not a “carry on as normal” tyre.

Key things to know:
▶️Max guidance is typically 50mph for up to 50 miles after a puncture
▶️If driven flat, many can’t be safely repaired
▶️You may not feel a puncture like you would on a normal tyre
▶️That means your TPMS warning light is critical - don’t ignore it
▶️Not every garage keeps run-flats in stock

❄️ Faulty compressors or condensers
❄️ Electrical faults stopping the system working properly

This is what we found on a car that came in after a part worn tyre blew out on the A64, nearly sending the driver into the barrier.

From the outside, they can look “alright”…
