When planning a night out where alcohol is likely to be involved, it’s crucial to prioritise safety by choosing a designated driver in your group, using public transportation where possible, or by booking a taxi to ensure everyone gets home safely.

If you’ve had a couple of alcoholic drinks at a summer social occasion for example, don’t try to calculate whether you are over the limit. It’s always best to plan ahead and stick to ‘ ’.

👉 Watch your speed; set off with plenty of time to spare. If you're late, it's better to arrive late than not at all

National Road Victim Month also serves as a reminder that road safety isn’t just limited to how we drive; it’s also a reminder about the condition of the vehicle we’re driving.

Your tyres, brakes, steering, suspension, lights/ indicators, windscreen/ wipers and seatbelts all play a role in keeping you, your passengers and other road users safe.

Ignoring small issues can quickly turn into expensive and dangerous problems. As soon as you notice something is wrong with your car, get it checked. Stay safe.
