🚗 ✅ Driving Test Checklist: What You Need to Bring + Car Rules You Can’t Ignore

Got your practical driving test coming up? Before you even start the engine, make sure you’ve ticked every box. Missing just one thing could mean a cancelled test. Here's what you really need to know:

📌 1. Your Provisional Driving Licence
Must be the original photocard (not a copy or a photo on your phone). Damaged or expired? You won’t be allowed to take the test.

📄 2. Your Theory Test Pass Certificate
Not always checked, but better safe than sorry. Bring it along if you have it.

🚙 3. Using Your Own Car? It MUST Be:
・Taxed
・Insured for use during a driving test
・MOT-certified (if over 3 years old)
・Free of dashboard warning lights
・Fitted with L plates (front and back)
・Equipped with a passenger seatbelt and head restraint
・Fitted with an interior rear-view mirror for the examiner
・NOT subject to a manufacturer safety recall (unless resolved)

👚 4. Dress Practically
Wear something comfortable and safe to drive in. Trainers = yes. Flip flops = please no.

👥 5. Optional: Instructor or Support Person
They can sit in the back during your test if it helps you feel more at ease.

🧠 Top Tip:
Check all of this the day before. Turning up unprepared = cancelled test + lost fee + more waiting.
