STOP HOGGING THE MIDDLE LANE! 🚗🛣️
​It’s more than just annoying, it’s an offence. Staying in the middle lane when the left lane is clear can land you:
​A £100 on-the-spot fine.
​3 penalty points on your licence.
​The Rule: Always drive in the left-hand lane unless you are overtaking. Once you’ve passed the slower vehicle, move back over safely. It keeps the traffic flowing and keeps your money in your pocket!

🚗 DRIVING TEST BOOKED? PLEASE READ 🚗

I've had a lot of last minute enquiries recently from people looking to use my car for driving tests that are only a few days or weeks away.

Please note: If your driving test is less than 3 weeks away, I am highly unlikely to be able to accommodate you.

Why do I have this policy?

📅 Advance Booking – My diary is usually booked several weeks in advance with my regular pupils.

🛡️ Safety, Risk & Responsibility – My car is my livelihood. As a driving instructor, I have a responsibility to ensure anyone using it is driving safely and to a suitable standard. Allowing someone I haven't properly assessed to take my vehicle on test could put other road users at risk, could result in damage to my vehicle, and could leave me unable to work if my car is off the road.

🎯 Test Readiness – I don't simply hire out my car for driving tests. I need time to assess your driving, make sure you're genuinely at test standard, and help correct any faults or bad habits before test day.

The golden rule:

If I haven't personally assessed your driving to the required standard, or your test is less than 3 weeks away, I won't be able to offer my car for your driving test.

If you'd like to use my car for your test, please get in touch as soon as you've booked your test so we can plan ahead.

Huge congratulations to Lyndon, who absolutely smashed his driving test this afternoon! 🎉🚘
Passing first time with just 3 DFs is an incredible achievement on any day, but doing it in the middle of this blistering heatwave? Outstanding! ☀️🌡️ Lyndon kept his cool, stayed completely focused, and brought home a fantastic result.
It has been an absolute pleasure teaching you, mate. Safe driving out there, and enjoy the well-deserved freedom! 🥳

PHEASANT AWARENESS CHECK! 🪶🛑

​Why did the pheasant cross the road? To try and pull a last-minute hazard perception test on a learner driver, of course! 🤦‍♂️

​Massive shout-out to my student during this lesson. Driving on country lanes is unpredictable enough, but they spotted this absolute menace early, slowed right down perfectly, and didn't panic.

​The pheasant survives to cause chaos another day. 10/10 for hazard perception! 🚗💨

⚠️The weather can change in an instant — and your driving needs to change with it.

🌦️Sudden rain? The Highway Code says you should double your stopping distance and slow down.

☀️Bright sun can be just as dangerous, creating reflections and glare on road surfaces — make sure your sunglasses and sun visor are within reach before you set off.

🚗🚙And if you're sitting in heavy traffic, keep a safe gap to the car in front. It's easy to creep forward without thinking, but that space could be what prevents a bump.

👍A few small adjustments can make a big difference. Stay safe on the roads this summer!
