Congratulations to Rico Franco on becoming the new BKFC Welterweight World Champion.
The mad thing is, for a long time Rico has had a much bigger fight than boxing. A fight for his health and life itself. He’s gone from a hospital bed to world champion in a matter of months.
Because what people saw last night was just the end result. This is a guy who has dedicated his entire life to this moment. The sacrifices, setbacks, struggles and countless hours of work that nobody sees are what made last night possible.
Last night wasn’t just a victory. It wasn’t just a title win. Rico walked into someone else’s backyard and delivered one of the biggest statements you’ll ever see. The belt is the reward, but the journey is what makes this story so special.
To overcome everything he has and then perform the way he did on the biggest stage is something truly remarkable.
