So thats the rs2000 on its wheels! Been a long time getting to this point but so pleased with it so far. Its not been without problems!

So when I first fired it up all seemed good, set the timing, little carb tune. Then after a couple of minutes a huge puddle of oil appeared! I found a crank seal in a gasket kit a few days before and just assumed it was a spare, no way I'd forget to put it in right?

Wrong!! Engine pulled out, flywheel off and yep I'd left it out! Must've pulled it off the stand the week after I built it and was too excited to put it in and just threw the flywheel on. Nevermind, no harm done and an easy fix. Happens to the best of us.

Had a handbrake rod to make, last piece of the puzzle and its now driveable ish. Seat frames to make next and then onto the panels.

So after 5 months of waiting for the cnc'd cylinder head it's finally arrived! No time wasted fitting it with a new Kent cam. Another step closer to running.

Head gasket replacement on the 94 rangerover. Been battling overheating issues since the car broke down in bordeaux. The waterpump was changed out there and I was sent to drive it back.
On the way home, just outside of rennes the heater hose blew and after a quick bushfix and a very friendly French lady who got me 10l of water we eventually made it to the ferry in the dark, horrendous rain with no heating and a very steamed up windscreen! Not a journey i ever wish to do again!
After I got it back I discovered the viscous fan wasn't working correctly but even with a replacement, the multiple overheats had already done the damage.
After a few tests co2 tests, most of which didn't show anything 1 did when the engine was very warm. On removal of the heads the tracks could be seen in the gaskets.
Heads skimmed and now going back together and hopefully the end of the issues!

Not posted for a while, busy with a lot of little jobs. Update on the es**rt. Engine in build now, just waiting on the new pistons being fitted on the rods. Axle refurbished and built, brakes bled and the interior taking shape!
