Shelsley Walsh is the premier speed hill climb venue in the UK with competition weekends and the opportunity to hire the venue for corporate bookings, photo or filming shoots or anything you need. Hill climbing started at Shelsley Walsh in 1905 when the Midland Automobile Club had to find an alternative venue to Sun Rising Hill near Stratford. Since then, and war years apart, the Club has run hill

climbs at Shelsley Walsh ever since, making it the oldest surviving motor sport venue in the world. The hill continues to host the British Hill Climb Championship that sees cars hit 165mph in a thrilling weekend of speed, drama and incredible skill with the opportunity for spectators to get right up close to the action. It's World Photography Day today so we've picked the stand out pictures from the photographers who were here at our thrilling August meeting just ten days ago.

This Thursday evening we’ve got our August edition of Shelsley’s Cars in the Valley.

Starting from 6pm we’ve got food, drink, cars, bikes, friends, laughs, a walk up The Hill and the odd dog too!

MAC 2026 members are all free, just register that you’re coming along, while for non-members it’s just £5 for a chilled evening.

August 9th, 2026 was one of the stand out days in recent years at Shelsley Walsh with the record being broken four times over the day by Matthew Ryder, Will Hall and ultimately Wallace Menzies.

From 22.33 seconds at the start of the day the record tumbled to 22.20 and Wallace Menzies’ Gould GR59 Cosworth V8 on the very last run of the day.

NEW SHELSLEY WALSH RECORD HOLDER Wallace Menzies sets 22.20 seconds on the last run of an amazing weekend of speed hill climbing as he takes a maximum score of 22 points away from today.

A quite breathtaking 1.74 seconds for the first 64 feet laid the foundation for Wallace’s time as he carried the speed to the top of The Hill.

Congratulations Wallace and Team; you’ve got yourselves a Shelsley record 🏆
