FILTER FIX
A 22 plate Mazda recently came to WMM for a full service, though the vehicle had a full service history.
Director David is always apprehensive about cars that have come to WMM after main dealer servicing and when the customer arrived, he was asked if there were any issues with the vehicle that he was aware of.
Yes, he replied, the air conditioning does not appear to be as good as it should be. David suggested an A/C re-gas. The customer was advised that it would cost approximately £90 plus VAT for us to have a look at it and that we would keep him up to speed.
David feels that the garage industry needs more regulation as a service can be anything from checking the fluids to doing a proper job.
Unfortunately, doing a proper job takes more time, and motorists are cutting back on their spending.
Part of a WMM full service is to check at the pollen/cabin filter. On this vehicle, the filter was well and truly blocked. When the filter was changed and the A/C checked, it appeared to work as it should.
By changing the pollen filter, WMM “lost” an A/C service, but customer satisfaction is always more important.
