Tis’ the season for water leaks. 🌧️💧💧

We have had a huge influx of water leaks in the past few months, this Audi A5 was definitely one of the worst.

The leak now identified and fixed, due to the huge amount of water in the interior we’ve had to strip to dry and clean to prevent mould and constant condensation in the car.

It’s also damaged some of the seat electrics causing the electric seat to no longer work which we will get rectified with some wiring repairs.

If you suspect increased condensation, damp or moisture in the vehicle we would advise getting it checked out as soon as possible, if not to prevent mould and smells, certainly to prevent any electrical damage! The longer it’s left the more damage it can do ⚡️💦

A genuinely immaculate b8 Audi Rs4 (and probably one of the cleanest cars we’ve seen) in for a Milltek cat back exhaust. 💥

Short video demoing the differences of valves being opened and closed between comfort and dynamic.

Subtle and quieter in comfort mode for long drives and passengers, hit the noisy button and select dynamic and unleash the v8 - the sound is epic 🤩🤩🤩

Mercedes GLA 35 AMG. 🤩🤩

This customer had an issue with various pre safe and assistance faults coming on when driving in the rain.

One of those faults was the lack of automatic dimming headlights (a function that automatically dips the main beam lights when the camera sees on coming traffic).

Our investigation found a poor resistance in the heating element designed to prevent the cameras from fogging up.

A new element fitted along with ADAS calibration aligning the front cameras and this Merc is back assisting as it should be, even on those dark rainy nights 💡💡

Are you keeping up with the maintenance on your automatic transmission? 🧐

From DSC, DSG, 7G, 9G, ZF 8HP, 722.9, 724.0 and many more, there are multiple variants of transmissions installed to German vehicles now.

ALL gearboxes have a service interval for the oil and filter, in some cases just the oil and these are advised by the either the vehicle or transmission manufacturer (and often contradict each other)! 🤯

It’s important to keep this hugely expensive component serviced on time at the correct age and mileage, as neglect can cause drivability issues and undue expense down the road ❌

Using our experience of carrying out multiple transmission services every week, we’ve simplified the complicated intervals and created a comprehensive schedule and pricing guide so we can advise the right service for each vehicle. ✅

This Mercedes GLA equipped with the dual clutch gearbox came in for a routine oil and filter (2 filters in this case) replacement to ensure it’s kept in tip top condition 👌

It’s been an interesting week of broken wires and electrical faults, not forgetting one massive rat 🐀 that caused a few faults on one unlucky A class!

We often do short videos for our customers to help aid the understanding of what we’ve been up to when fault finding on more complex jobs.

This short 2 minute video is the result of HOURS worth of investigation into a Mercedes GLC that came in as a non start on a recovery truck.

The process starts from trying to decipher 100’s of fault codes relating to no communication and various things not working to aid a ‘starting point’ , then sifting through Mercedes wiring diagrams, fuse and relay locations, locations of control units, taking trims apart to access said control units, referring back to wiring diagrams to determine terminal and plug positions. Testing of the wiring, double check testing, planning and understanding of the circuits, back to wiring diagrams and then more wiring tests 😅

In the end we narrowed it down to this wire has an excessive resistance somewhere between here and there. Which then becomes a simple break in the wire and ultimately a 10 minute fix (just the wire).

Incredible that one tiny 0.5mm wire can cause an entire vehicle to stop functioning!
