RANT TIME 😡

I’m sorry, but enough is enough.

Going forward, all jobs will require a 20% deposit to secure your booking and get your car booked into the workshop.

I’ve just had another job cancelled that was due to come in on Monday, worth £900. Unfortunately, cancellations at short notice have a real impact on a small business like mine.

Imagine turning up for work on Monday morning, only to be told, “Sorry, we don’t need you this week — and unfortunately, we won’t be paying you either.” Not a great feeling, is it?

The difference is that, as a small business owner, I don’t just have household bills to cover. I also have workshop rent, utilities, equipment, insurance and all the other overheads that come with running a business.

When a job is cancelled at short notice, I’m still left carrying those costs, and ultimately, I’m the one who takes the financial hit.

I completely understand that sometimes circumstances change and cancellations are unavoidable. However, I also need to protect my business and make sure my time and workshop space are respected.
