🛞 Job Type: Full-Time
⏰ Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00 Saturdays 8:30-12:00 (One On-One Off)
💰 Salary: Competitive (Dependant On Experience)

Established in 1990 we are a family-run workshop and MOT station based in Wombwell, Barnsley. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality repairs, servicing, and MOTs, with a strong focus on honest advice and excellent customer service. Our loyal customer base continues to grow, and we’re looking for a skilled and reliable mechanic to join our team.

Job Role:
You’ll be working on a wide range of vehicles, carrying out diagnostics, repairs, servicing and MOT preparation. This is a hands-on role in a very busy but supportive environment where quality workmanship is valued over rushing jobs.

Key Responsibilities:
🔸 Perform vehicle diagnostics, servicing and repairs to a high standard
🔸 Ability to work on your own or as a team with other staff when required
🔸 Communicate clearly and effectively with the team and occasionally customers
🔸 Keep workspace clean and presentable
🔸 Good time keeping is essential
🔸 Ensure all work is completed efficiently and safely

What We’re Looking For:
🔸 Qualified and experienced vehicle technician/mechanic
🔸 MOT tester license NOT ESSENTIAL (can be discussed at some point for right candidate)
🔸 Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills
🔸 Reliable, punctual, hardworking and takes pride in their work
🔸 Full UK drivers license
🔸 Someone who can work well within a small, close-knit team

‼️ SLIGHT PRICE INCREASE ‼️

Just a heads up, due to rising costs of Aircon Refrigerant we’ve had to put our regas charge for R134a vehicles up slightly! - NOW £55

R1234yf which is used on newer vehicles stays the same at £45 (Machine use) + 12p per gram of gas used +VAT - if your system is completely empty, this will come out at around £100-£130 depending on your vehicle make, model and how much refrigerant it takes.

UV PAG oil used on every vehicle - this makes diagnosing future leaks easier.

As a busy workshop, if you fetch your vehicle for re-gassing and it is found to have a leak we can’t promise to fix it the same day. Please bare in mind we have work booked in, weeks in advance but we’ll always try our best to get you either sorted or booked in ASAP.

Another busy day — and a man down — with a full car park and a few already in the workshop 🛠️

🚗 Seat Arona - Oil & Filter Change + (Digital Service Record Update)

🚗 Seat Arona - Oil & Filter Change + (Digital Service Record Update)
Thanks to Mr Schofield, booking both his Arona’s in for their oil changes.

🚗 Mercedes C-Class - Originally booked in for just a Front Brake Pad change, after inspection it also required Rear Pads due to both being down to their wear sensors. OE quality pads fitted and customer back on the road ✅

🚗 Seat Leon - MOT & Full Service

🚗 Ford Transit Custom - This was initially booked in next Friday for leaking power steering pipes (extremely common) unfortunately he had a brake pipe burst on him so we squeezed him in today for everything doing to get him back on the road ASAP. Genuine Ford power steering pipes fitted ✅

🚗 Fiat Tipo - Front coil spring, track rod end, anti-roll bar link and wheel alignment.

🚗 Hyundai i10 - Customer complained of a poor handbrake - this was only working on one side and required a new caliper and rear brake pads.

OE quality parts fitted ✅
Correct oils used in every vehicle ✅

Busy busy Friday (and week!) 🤩
