🚧Starting next week, we’ll be carrying out essential carriageway resurfacing work between junctions 12 and 10 of the M6 to provide smoother and safer journeys.

🦺We’ll work overnight on weeknights between 8pm and 6am, with the following closures in place:
❌20 to 30 October – M6 southbound closed between junctions 12 and 10a
❌31 October to 21 November – M6 southbound closed between junctions 12 and 10

🗺A clearly signed diversion route will be in place but we recommend you plan ahead and allow additional time for your journeys.

🛣️ A reminder that resurfacing work starts in Wellington Rd this evening (June 11) as part of our commitment to fixing roads and tackling potholes.
The road will be temporarily shut in both directions between Dover St and Lichfield St from 7pm-5am until June 17, except on Saturday and Sunday.

Vehicular diversion: Lichfield St, Oxford St, Black Country Rte, Birmingham New Rd, Thompson Ave, Birmingham Rd, Grove St, Dudley Rd, Ring Rd, Bilston Rd.
Outbound: Bilston Rd, Ring Rd, Birmingham Rd, Thompson Ave, Birmingham New Rd, Black Country Rte, Oxford St, Lichfield St.

Resurfacing and other highways improvements alongside pothole repairs are taking place across the city.

Great news 👏

Following the recent road closures and diversions due to the fire at Lower Horseley Fields, we can now confirm Willenhall Road has now reopened to INBOUND traffic only.

Signposted diversion for outbound traffic on Willenhall Road remains in place, with traffic diverted along Ring Road – Bilston Road – Stowheath Lane.

Lower Walsall Street also remains closed until further notice, as does the canal and canal tow path between Horseley Fields Bridge and Walsall Street.

Reminder that road closures are still in place while West Midlands Fire Service continue working onsite following Monday nights fire

Willenhall Road - closed between Shakespeare Street and Walsall Street (junction with The Harp Inn)
Lower Walsall Street - closed between Lower Horseley Fields and Hickman Avenue

The following diversions are in place during this closure:
Into city centre – Neachells Lane, Wednesfield Way, Wolverhampton Road, Wednesfield Road, Ring Road.
Out of city centre – Ring Road, Bilston Road, Stowheath Lane.

The Mayor of Wolverhampton Councillor Sandra Samuels OBE is inviting people to get bidding and support a charity auction which will benefit three local good causes.

There are four fantastic lots up for grabs, a matchboard and signed programmes from the recent Cazoo Grand Slam of Darts, a wood fired pizza oven and a framed Wolves-style shirt.

Bids can be made until Monday afternoon (12 December) at https://bit.ly/3Y59Vq7. Mayor Councillor Samuels OBE said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to obtain some unique items from the Cazoo Grand Slam of Darts, along with the chance to buy some great Christmas presents.
