So the weather is very changeable at the moment, going from sunshine to sudden heavy showers. Here is a little guidance to driving in the wet conditions 🌧⚡️

7 Top Tips for Driving in Wet Weather 🌧️

Rain can make driving more challenging, reducing visibility and increasing stopping distances. Stay safe on the roads with these 7 top wet-weather driving tips from 7 Driving School.

✅ **1. Slow Down**
Wet roads reduce tyre grip, so ease off the accelerator and allow extra time for your journey.

✅ **2. Increase Your Following Distance**
Leave at least double the normal gap which is 2 seconds between you and the vehicle ahead to give yourself more time to react, leaving at least a 4 second gap leaves time to react safely.

✅ **3. Use Your Lights**
Turn on dipped headlights in rain and poor visibility so other road users can see you more clearly.

✅ **4. Avoid Sudden Movements**
Brake, accelerate, and steer smoothly to help maintain control of your vehicle. This also makes your driving more predictable to other drivers allowing them to drive safer also.

✅ **5. Watch Out for Standing Water**
Puddles can hide potholes and increase the risk of aquaplaning. Drive around them where it's safe to do so.

✅ **6. Keep Your Windscreen Clear**
Make sure your wipers are in good condition and your washer fluid is topped up before setting off.

✅ **7. Check Your Tyres**
Good tyre tread and correct tyre pressure are essential for maintaining grip on wet roads.

🌧️ **Remember:** The first few minutes of rainfall can be especially slippery as oil and dirt mix with water on the road surface.

Stay safe, drive smart, and arrive safely.
