We are getting increasingly more calls for cambelt replacements on the 1.0 eco boost engine and people are sometimes shocked at the cost to replace the cambelt,
Below are a few photos showing the amount of parts required when replacing the cambelt and also the amount of the engine that requires stripping to gain access to the belt,
We ALWAYS use genuine Ford parts and
We ALWAYS remove the sump and clean out the oil pick up, which in the pictures you will see how blocked this gets which if left can cause oil starvation to the engine normally resulting in requiring a new engine.

Do you own a transit or transit custom 2.0?
Ford have now dropped the cam interval’s due to wet belts failing prematurely on these engines,
They used to be 150,000 miles or 10 years (which ever comes first)
THEY ARE NOW 100,000 MILES OR 6 YEARS (which ever comes first)
These engines can cause catastrophic damage when the belts fail and generally end up needing a new engine,
if you own a transit 2017-2018 or have done 100,000 miles and have not had the belt replaced yet it may be over due or due,
When replacing these belts we always replace both Cambelt and oil pump belt,
Remove the sump and clean out any old debris from the engine,
Every part we use is genuine Ford including the correct grade 0w30 castrol oil,
If your not sure if you van might be due a belt drop us a call or WhatsApp message with the reg and the mileage and we can check if you have the effected 2.0 ecoblue engine,
this does not effect the 2.2 or 2.4 transits

Customer Notice

Its that time of year again where MOT bookings are very high due to the mot extensions put in place a couple years ago on top of all the MOTs that would've already been due this time of year.

We would advice you to get booked in as early as possible as you can have the MOT done up to a month (minus a day) before the expiry date.

At the time of this post we are booked up for MOTs until 12th of September, so are currently taking bookings from the 13th September onwards for MOTs.
We still have some space for other work prior to this but we are currently getting booked up.

As always thank you to all our customers for all your continued custom and we really do appreciate the recommendations form yourselves to new customers.

We have a job opportunity coming up for a vehicle technician,
We are looking for an experienced, fully qualified mechanic,
They must have a current mot licence, ideally class 4 and 7 but 7 not essential,

Ideally looking for a ford main dealer technician but not essential,

Must be confident in Cambelt’s, clutches, engine work and diagnostics, servicing ETC

Working hours will be 8-6 Monday to Friday with NO Saturdays,

Excellent rates of pay with no bonus,

Customer update.

We just wanted to inform you all that as from May we will no longer be opening Saturdays.

Due to the hours we work during the week and having Saturdays on top it’s meaning we aren’t getting any personal time. We understand to some this may be an inconvenience but to help with this as some may be aware we do offer a collection and delivery service from Bracknell and Wokingham where we can collect the vehicle on the way into work and return it on the way home at the end of the day. We also now have a courtesy car which can be collected when u drop off meaning you can carry on your days tasks without too much interruptions. Both services do get booked up so we would always advise to book in advance where possible but if available at short notice we will always try our best to accommodate.

Due to how crazy busy it’s been for us over the last year we have decided we will be closing over Xmas for a well deserved rest our last day of work will be
Thursday the 23rd and back open on Tuesday 4th.
