😂 A little story from today...

Regular customer (who I'm convinced has us on speed dial by now 😆):

👤 "My son has his driving test on Wednesday, but I don't think the engine should be moving like this..."

(sends WhatsApp video)

👩‍🔧 Me: "Ummm... no, definitely not!" 😳

👤 Customer: "Could you sort it ASAP for us?"

👩‍🔧 Me: "Of course!"

Cue me immediately ordering what I was convinced would be the required part.

Fast forward to hubby collecting the vehicle, getting it on the ramp and removing the undertray...

🔍 The culprit?

Two bolts.

Either loose, hand-tightened, or never put back properly in the first place. 🤦‍♀️

I stood there in complete awe.

📞 Customer gets the good news. 😊 Son can still take his driving test. 🎉 No expensive repair needed. 🚗 Vehicle sorted.

And the best part?

We finished earlier than expected!

Sometimes the biggest problems turn out to have the simplest solutions... and sometimes it's just two missing bolts trying to ruin everyone's week. 😂

One from this week...
Customer: "I need discs and pads urgently."
Me: "No problem, front or rear?"
Customer: "Rear."
Me: "Okay, leave it with us."
Vehicle collected ✔️
Work completed ✔️
Vehicle returned ✔️
Me, later that day: "Hang on... I've never seen rear discs look quite like that before..." 🤔

Let's just say there was a very good reason they wanted them changed urgently! 😂
No judgement here life gets busy, and most people aren't inspecting their brakes every weekend. That's exactly why regular checks and maintenance are so important.

🔧😂 Admin Life: A Short Story 😂🔧 (WIFE)

Me: "Just confirming your booking..."
Customer: "Yep, all good!"
Me: "Can I just check if the vehicle has been sat for a while? It shows no insurance and no MOT since 2023..."
Customer: "I bought it last year and it definitely had an MOT!"
Me: "Could you just confirm the registration for me?"
Customer: Confirms reg
Me: "...OOOOOOH NO. I've typed the registration wrong by one number 5 instead of 6" 😳
Customer: "No problem, you had me questioning myself for a minute there!" 😂
Me: Apologises.
Also me: Apologises again.
And then just for good measure: Apologises one more time. 🤦‍♀️

The reality of running a family business:
👨‍🔧 One mechanic
👩‍💻 One admin (running on redbull)
👧👦 Constant background commentary from the children
📱 About 47 tabs open in our brains at any one time

But also why we confirm everything 24/48 hours prior....

I guess this is what happens when you've had a child off school for nearly two weeks and you're juggling family life and a business at the same time!
