One very poorly Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI brought back to life. This car was purchased by a customer on eBay, unfortunately not as described upon arrival and requiring much love and attention both mechanically and bodywork wise.

⚪️ Poor running, this was caused my multiple issues, injector wiring pins damaged, TPS disconnected, broken vacuum advance unit, faulty ECU temp sensor and wired incorrectly

🔘 Poor wiring within the engine bay from previous twin fan installation and spot lamp replacement, all re terminated and put back to original.

⚪️ Broken air filter box bracket, welded, dressed and painted.

🔘 Rear brake pads fitted incorrectly, removed and refitted correctly.

⚪️ Rubber fuel lines fitted from front to back, this is dangerous, replaced with new BakerBM fuel pipes and new clips.

🔘 Incorrect driveshaft fitted to nearside, replaced with correct shaft.

⚪️ Exhaust system totally rotten, replaced with used stainless system.

A huge amount more done to this car in the time it was with us, above is just the beginning 😆

Once finished it was a nice respectful example which could be jumped in and used, to make really good it deserved a full respray which the new owner was going to have done at some point in the near future👌

Peugeot 205 GTI door repaired, rather than replaced 😎

⚫️ Corrosion cut from lower door section

⚪️ Repair section cut from donor door which had damage in another section

⚫️ Surface corrosion to the inner skin cleaned and treated to prevent further corrosion

⚪️ Repair section welded in to place, dressed and primed ready for paint

Here’s another stunner recently completed! This arrived on a truck, ran very badly and needed a lot of love and attention. So that’s what we gave it!

Here’s a brief rundown on the work completed with photos, I’ll do some in depth posts on particular topics like the front bumper repair at a later date 👍

▫️Sort out the running issues. It’s got a 3.0 V6 under the hood, it was a combination of two air leaks and poor mapping (running an Emerald ECU)

▪️Timing belt kit and full service

▫️Replace damaged exhaust

▪️Welding to OSR inner sill

▫️Full glass out respray

▪️Repair damaged front bumper

▫️Wrap the chrome trim inserts

▪️Repair broken glove box with custom printed 3d parts

▫️Replace fifth gear synchro

▪️Repair instrument cluster surround

▫️Alloy wheel refurbish

▪️Replace seats with good set and treat with leather balm

▫️Sort out the wiring mess under the bonnet

There were many many more jobs completed on this Goodwood and I’ve got many more photos, hopefully this gives a good overview of it all 😊

Another one for the 309 enthusiasts 😎 I’ve heard the term ‘broken glovebox’ for a long time, so I invested some time with a family member looking at how we could fix the glovebox lids, a week later and with the help of a 3d printer we have something in testing 😉

Brief overview and details of the repair process below, I will hopefully be providing rebuild kits in the near future 👇👌👍

▪️To begin, you have to split the glove box in two to expose the inner components

▪️Dremel part of the handle away to allow fitment of the 3d repair part and bond in to place

▪️Drill / dremel where the bottom pins are to allow the 3d printed repair pieces to drop through and bond in to place

▪️Refit handle / bar with springs to the lid and then bond it back together

This is a really really brief overview, fingers crossed after some further testing and fine tuning I’ll have some kits available for people to rebuild their own or provide fixed lids on an exchange basis 👌

A huge thanks to my good friend who allowed me to borrow a mint condition glovebox lid for reference 😃

Caliper refresh on a Megane 225 F1 edition 👌

The request was to freshen these up as the wheels were being painted, so these were done on the vehicle to work within a budget. To cap them off and remove from the vehicle was not an option in this particular scenario.

Process below ⬇️

🔵 All surrounding components masked up

⚫️ Soft wire wheeled all existing paint from the calipers to take them back to bare metal

🔵 De-greased to remove any debris and oil contamination, then blown off with an air line

⚫️ Applied two coats of E-Tech red caliper paint

Great result and a huge improvement! 😎

✔️ General safety inspection, oil and filter / spark plugs replaced

✔️ New alternator belt and adjustment set correct as it wasn’t charging

✔️ Minor paint rectification

✔️ Replaced and greased gear shifter bushings

✔️ Replaced one extremely perished tyre

One for the 309 enthusiasts, nothings ever too broken 😆 here’s an instrument cluster surround I recently repaired👌

🟢 Hot stapled the pieces broken but still present

🔘 Used JB PlasticWeld to re-create any missing pieces

🟢 Trimmed, shaped and sanded, then Isopon flexible plastic filler applied

🔘 Sanded and smoothed, fine texture coat applied

🟢 Finished off in satin black and refitted to the car perfectly!

Lovely Mk2 Golf GTI 8v prepped for Hot Hatch Giveaways back in December. Following work carried out 👇

⚫️ Minor paintwork on a few panels

🔘 Apply new coach lines and lower pinstripes

⚫️ Recresh grill with fresh red paint on the surround

🔘 New front ball joints / wheel alignment

⚫️ Wheel rim lips painted to make wheels perfect

🔘 Re texture coat arch trims to remove scuffs

⚫️ Replace faulty LCD within instrument cluster

🔘 Replace master cylinder and rear brake compensator

⚫️ General safety inspection

Evening all! A long awaited post. Sorry for the lack of social interaction!!

It’s been an extremely busy few months, many many early starts and late nights, however managing to clear the backlog where multiple jobs turned in to much larger ones! That’s rust for you 😆

With only one pair of hands and being extremely fussy it put me behind, so thanks to everyone that’s helped me and also been patient 😊

Two large projects have gone out and are back with their extremely happy owners over the past couple of months. Now I’m working on the next couple which are a S2 RS Turbo and Peugeot 309 GTI - more frequent updates to come over the next couple of months on these.

After that there’s another 5dr 309 Goodwood to start and 5dr 309 SRi 😎

So here’s some photos of one of the large jobs recently completed. It’s an absolutely stunning Phase 1 Peugeot 309 GTI.

The following work was carried out, this is a brief overview, some repair panels were fabricated and others were sourced from a very good donor vehicle to reduce cost / fabrication time 👇

🔴 Cut out corrosion and weld
In fresh metal to the lower b-post sections

⚫️ Cut out corrosion from inner / outer rear sections of sills, fabricate repair sections to inner strengtheners, protect inner with anti corrosive schutz, weld on replacement jacking points

🔴 Cut out corrosion from wheel arch / rear quarter sections and weld in fresh metal

⚫️ Cut out corrosion from doors, fabricate and weld in fresh metal

🔴 Remove all surface corrosion from underside at the rear, apply rust converter and then anti corrosive schutz in the centre and stonechip under the arches in preparation for paint

⚫️ Paint rear quarters, blending in to doors and shuts. Sills roof and under arches

Once completed I cleaned everything possible so it was ready for the owner to put the remaining parts back on the vehicle (they stripped the car in preparation for welding / paint to reduce costs)
