Motor Vehicle Technician/Mechanic

We are looking to recruit a full-time permanent motor vehicle technician/mechanic to join our busy and expanding workshop.

Al’s Autos has an excellent reputation for outstanding service therefore the successful applicant will need to be a team player and self motivated who pays attention to detail with a good work ethic.

Applicants must be a timed served motor technician with your own tools. Ideally you will need to be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in light vehicle maintenance and a full driving license.

Mot Tester and diagnostic capabilities are an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
To undertake maintenance, service and repairs to motor vehicles of all makes to the highest standard.

Advise and report on vehicle faults and servicing requirements while working on vehicles including future servicing / repair requirements.

Diagnose engine management faults using diagnostic equipment.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5-30 pm

Annual salary of £24000 to £31200 plus optional overtime. To be negotiated depending on experience.

We have taken advantage of a long bank holiday weekend to paint our workshop floor. In addition to the Thursday and Friday we are closed from today Wednesday 1 June until Monday 6th June to allow extra time for the floor to dry and our staff a well earned rest. We will be back open at 8-30 Tuesday 7th June.

COVID-19 UPDATE 2021

After carefully considering the new guidelines we will be staying open as normal but with some changes to safeguard our staff and customers.

Again, the workshop will be a no access area unless invited in. Upon arrival a member of staff will come to meet you at the door, face coverings must be worn and adhere to social distance rules at all times in and around our premises. For jobs while you wait you will be invited in and shown to a safe waiting area, hand sanitisers are available for customers.

All vehicles and keys will continue to be cleaned thoroughly before and after working on them.

Unfortunately we will not be able to give customers a lift to or from our premises until the COVID situation improves.

Please call the workshop on 01964612222 prior to your visit to enable limiting the number of customers at one time.

Although these are certainly some tough times and harder working conditions we aim to protect our customers and ourselves to enable us to remain open to provide the service that you require.

From Monday 11th May Al’s Autos Ltd will be re-opening.

All staff will be adhering to strict Government guidelines and ask all customers to follow the 2 meter social distancing rule.

To ensure the safety of customers and staff, prior to your visit please telephone 01964 612222.

A chain has been installed across the workshop door to prevent entry into the workshop and office. On your arrival a member of staff will come over to you.

All keys and inside of cars will be sanitised before and after a member of staff working on the vehicle.

We would like to thank all customers for your patience and understanding in these difficult times.
