I had to share the review I have received today from one of my learners who recently passed their test. Thank you so much for your kind words Jana 🥰
After learning for a year with a previous instructor, I was told mere weeks before my test that I wasn’t ready. While that was true, I was left with absolutely no plan on how to get there. My confidence was completely shattered, and I was convinced I would never be able to learn how to drive a manual car, let alone pass my test.Willing to give this another go, I researched instructors who specialize in anxiety, which led me straight to Pennie.
Even with a fully packed schedule, Pennie squeezed me in. We immediately rebooked my test and began working on both the actual driving skills, fixing previously built habits, and, crucially, the psychology behind driving.
Instead of driving straight to Kings Lynn, we stayed locally, which allowed me to drive somewhat independently from the start.
What made the biggest difference was how structured and supportive her lessons were:
At the start and end of every single lesson, we would go over my goals and achievements and I had to rate myself.
We looked at what went well and what could be improved, which allowed me to see steady, undeniable progress (and read up on it, when I started doubting it after a few hours).
When my anxiety spiked and I wanted to pull out of the test, Pennie didn't judge me or encourage me to cancel it. She left the decision entirely up to me, walked me through the statistics of my driving beforehand (I was convinced I would fail my manoeuvre, but had actually never parked outside the lines for example) and allowed me to see my progress. Against all my own doubts, I passed my first test a couple of weeks ago and have been driving every day since!
Having someone like Pennie in your corner makes all the difference.
There is no doubt in my mind that Pennie is the absolute best driving instructor you could ever hope for, especially if you struggle with anxiety or have a diagnosis of neuro divergence. She doesn't just teach you how to pass a test or how to drive safely, she teaches you how to believe in yourself and your own abilities.
