I'm Jonathan, and I've been surrounded by Citroen 2cvs my entire life, and spent many a happy Saturday childhood morning with my Dad at the local 2cv specialists. I started working on my Dad's 2cvs and other local cars in my early teens and have solely owned A Series Citroens since I passed my driving test 20 years ago. I started up Peak 2cv as a way to help others to enjoy using their 2cvs regula

rly, and as affordably as possible; thereby allowing the cars to continue to fulfill their original roles. I work from my workshop, in Wirksworth, Derbyshire, and undertake work from a simple service/tune up to engine builds, bodywork welding, and building up an entire car from its component parts. I can also help advise, and source a car for you if you are thinking about getting into the wonderful world of the 2cv for the first time.

We've seen a lot of G reg red Spécials over recent weeks, and this pair, which have been in for a lot of work, are both being collected today. Paul's car in the foreground has had a lot of welding undertaken, to inner rear wings, sweeps, and more, and the bodyshell has received a partial respray. Mark's 2cv behind has had a thorough refurbishment, including a brand new bodyshell, and much more! Mark decided to keep as much of the car's original look as possible, so all panels excepting the offside front wing are original. We've reassembled them in tandem over the past couple of weeks - it's felt a bit like 1989 on the Mangualde production line at times...

Despite ever-increasing numbers of 2cvs reaching the age where they become MOT test exempt, we're very pleased that most owners are still bringing them in to us for MOT preparation and to take for their annual test. This is the 4th we've done this week, and the 52nd of the year so far. It's not a lot of money to ensure your car is safe!

Finished in its original cream shade, with bright orange front wings and body-side accents, this 2cv van turns heads wherever it goes! It is perfect for an enthusiast to drive and enjoy whilst dreaming of France in the '70s, and it would also look great signwritten with the name of your business.
The original 435cc engine has been replaced with a much more useable 602 engine, meaning you'll be able to keep up with traffic. The bodyshell has been restored in the past and remains in excellent condition throughout - aided by the copious amounts of underbody and cavity wax that the current owner has lovingly applied and injected. The chassis is an original 1970s item and is in superb, sound condition (Citroen made 2cv chassis out of decent steel in the 1970s, unlike on the later cars...). Mechanically, the van is very sweet, with a lovely engine, a gearbox which is quiet in all gears and crunch-free, and the steering, brakes and clutch are all in good order. The exhaust, gearbox mount, rear dampers, fuel hoses and alternator were replaced by us 18 months/ 900 kilometres ago.

Our customer John bought this 1955 AZU when he was on holiday in Scotland last year. It had been restored and modernised by the owners, and all looked good as far as John could tell. However, once he got the van home to Derbyshire he realised all was not well. I went over to see and assess the van, and realised that, amongst many other serious errors, it had been converted to 1980s 2cv running gear and (LHM) front disc brakes, but the entire rear braking system was still using the old non-LHM 1950s-spec parts. To be honest, this was only the tip of the iceberg. We ordered a new, bespoke, SLC chassis from Max Wyer, and our Chris set-to stripping the van and righting the myriad wrongs. After a few weeks' work, some headscratching, welding in a new lower bulkhead, a fair amount of fabrication, and a whole heap of new parts, Chis (and John himself) finished reassembling the van this morning, and John drove it home just before lunchtime.

While it's true that this sort of modified and modernised "old van" isn't to everyone's taste, it really does look good, and John left this morning with a massive smile on his face! It'll also be a lot more useable on the hills of the Derbyshire Dales than if it had still got its original 425cc engine.
