When the sun shines, make hay! ☀️
A photo dump of some jobs that have been finished or currently in progress over the last few months.

- 4 different A/C currently going through covering and now the dope build up as seen.
(Feel free to guess the 4 from the photos!!)

- Spitfire Oil tank down for prime and top coating.

- Husky control surfaces for recover and paint after repair work.

- Tiger Moth wings and control surfaces taped up using ceconite. We then built up and top coated in butyrate silver. Now back with customer and flying.

Very busy way to end the week…

G-BPYN if back together after a fuselage restoration and a visit from it’s customers today.
A few more jobs to do and then a completion post to follow in a week or so.

Also today arrived this stunning Starduster too which has had damage to its belly. So in for a fabric repair and paint.

Shortly after followed this Auster to discuss its upcoming permit, which will be carried out here in a month.

Haven’t posted in a while but here’s a job that has been and gone.
This AUSTER 5J1 was long out of permit and also in need of some TLC, this included jobs like fitting new hardware and lift struts being stripped, inspected and re painted etc.
Its Cirrus Minor II engine also had some running issues that needed rectifying.

After the permit work was completed and the engine running like a sewing machine again it returned back to popham. 👍🏼

Two in!
G-PVCV was collected by its owner last week.
Which frees up space to re-cover and paint G-BCAZ a PA-12 super cruiser.
Also a Fuselage re-cover and paint for this L-4.

30 years ago we completed the total restoration of G-AYCK.
Recently it came back for a permit renewal, some corrosion work including grit blasting and re paint of the struts, gear and wing brackets. Hardware re plated and tie rods replaced due to life expiry.
After 30 years the paint had started to fade… so we gave the whole a/c a cut and polish, which has transformed its appearance!
Looks as good as it did 30 years ago.
