Fuel filter replacement and review 💭

It's critical to check the manufacture date of the parts you purchase, even genuine BMW parts.
We replaced the fuel filter last year in August, and we have traveled over 35,000 miles over the year.
We have noticed a strong smell of diesel and suspect the fuel filter is leaking again. We were right.

Why?

It was old stock; the rubber had probably deteriorated. But anyway, we have traveled close to 40,000 miles, which is the standard interval for changing it.

This time, we managed to purchase a filter made in 2026. Fingers crossed, we'll check again next year and confirm.

Doing it properly vs. making it work for now.

​Diagnostics on modern common-rail diesels leave very little room for shortcuts. This Mazda CX-5 came in needing the EGR system inspected, revealing an EGR valve that had been welded completely shut.

​Disabling EGR flow without resolving underlying carbon buildup or flow dynamics usually pushes problems downstream, clogging the intake shutter, confusing pressure sensors, and complicating DPF regens.

​We’re stripping it back, clearing the intake pathway, fitting a replacement valve, and resetting learned parameters in the ECU to restore factory calibration.

​Proper care keeps them running clean.

We truly appreciate our customer's patience in giving us the time to complete the job properly.

​No shortcuts.

​The crew helped adjust the ride height and worked out the best geometry setup. The customer also budgeted for genuine nuts and bolts to replace all the rusty hardware from 2004.

​With the new wheels on, step by step, the stance is really starting to show. It probably just needs to sit a little more flush.

​Even so, it’s an amazing estate. We really wish Lexus would do something like this again instead of dropping the IS series from the UK market.

Remember the rear spoiler we posted a few days ago.

This is the result.

It looks great on the Civic Sport, in my opinion the rims needs replacing to spice up the styling.

Installation: Difficulty 5/5
Since this is an aftermarket spoiler, the fitment is not exactly right. The crew required to perform some fabrication in order to fit it.

Price tag: Good.
Durability: Not as good as the genuine part, but for the price its acceptable.

Honda only today!

Thanks for the team effort, we have installed a Type R styled rear spoiler onto a Homda Civic 1.5 Sport!

It wasn't a straight forward process, without Sing and Joseph, we cannot finish it in time.

And then we have the Beat for MOT.

And also our new guest! Honda FR-V for maintenance.

There are enquiries we are yet to reply due to our lady went on holiday. Kent is managing well doing everything.

Tomorrow we will share better images about the Civic Sport with rear spoiler.

Yesterday, we drove over 500 miles to hand over cars to our customers.

​Thankfully, we stopped by Nottingham for Kojima homemade noodles again. Bringing Joseph along this time to enjoy the soba noodles.

​It would have been nice to take the S2000, but we took our Mini One D instead, managing an incredible 80 MPG.

​No rest for us this Sunday, but we’re winding down and getting ready for next week's bookings.
