mot work and collection and drop off Black Cat Motorcycles is a mobile Mechanical service which is owned and run by a qualified motorcycle mechanic with many years of mechanic experience. Motorcycling has always been in my family, so it was only natural that i became a motorcyclist too.My Grandad and his James motorcycle to my parents with their Honda CB160, i grew up watching them maintain and r

ide their bikes.Passing my motorcycle test in 1991, ive pretty much rode a motorcycle everyday and not only in UK!. My mechanical ability developed from keeping my own motorbike running and safe to ride. The words of ' if you look after your motorcycle it will look after you' have always stuck in my mind. Over the years i went from doing minor work to full rebuilds. Not only working on my own bikes, bikes of friends but also servicing, repairing and rebuilding motorcycle training school bikes.

Correcting another ' mechanic's ' ... 'work' lol.
At first i thought i could repair the tail end where the lights are.. but the wiring was not only bodged but the wire itself was blackened .. Then when i looked under the seat i found more bodge work.. Scotchloc to take a live to the tail light, instead of using the Brown bullet connect on the loom!!. then there is an earth wire added from the battery, INSTEAD of using the Green bullet connect on the loom!!.
So i have decided to junk all the sub loom and make a new loom, run the tail light wires correctly

Some turdball has reported my account Robyn Ann Williams as being fake- so now im locked out of it. I submitted a video of my face, if FB automated checker decides its fake- they will delete that account with ALL its content.
update: 'R.A.W' account is suspended. I could not chat to FB as the Chat option only brought a popup that said something like ' busy try late in an hour'.In the last 3/4 hours i have managed to contact FB chat.. spoke to an advisor who asked what i did before the pop up- which i was commenting a positive thing to a female mechanic who was getting comments about her not being a real mechanic.
So now ive told them the video upload issues i had and that it didnt ask for any other proof of who i am.. i can only wait for the specialist team to investigate.. When they will look at it - dont know... what the verdict will be... your guess is as good as mine. But i think i have , at best , 20% chance.
Fingers crossed

Today's customer's bike. Customer says that they paid another business to do a few jobs - paint bike, fit parts, do some wiring, fix exhaust leak and do a service.
After many months, they get it back, with a bag of bits- still blowing, sloppy gear change and other issues seen in the photos.
things to note:
- gear linkage worn so badly its held on with a cable tie.
- LH exhaust leaks badly because the collets are missing ( one in bag of bits)
-two bolts held in bike with PTFE tape , needed a nut on other side
- left rear indicator stopped working as BODGED wiring was hanging on back wheel- so 'fell apart' when it was ridden to MOT. Also indicator held in with silicone and a cable tie.
- Coils replaced, but the DIY brackets are just AWFUL.
- paint on it , isnt amazing.. it issues- orange peal etc.

Main work is to get the parts to fix it and then discuss with the customer the paint

Honda CB160 air filters dismantled and modified to to take foam filter.
products used:
- perforated sheet steel cut into 11cm widths and folded as seen
- welder to weld up the ends together on the one perforated piece
- Chemical steel putty.. cut into 1/4 sections.. mixed and rolled out into sausage lengths to join the all the steel pieces together
- sheet of filter foam
- paper cutter to cut the foam to size
- plastic U-trim ( B and Q aprox £4 ) cut to about 10.5cm to make 'clip on' ends for the one piece of foam
- UHU tube of glue to join the filter foam as required.
What i have created is a serviceable and reusable filter which is ALOT cheaper than aprox £168 for a pair of NOS paper ones.

Fiat Ducato turbo pipe. the part i needed is the rubber piece, but you can only buy this pipe genuine with the metal pipe.
I did look online, eg Ebay and phone local shops and either it was ' not sure it will fit' ' it wont fit' 'no we cant get turbo piping'
This was not cheap at £184 incl. VAT.
But it will fit and it means i can get back to work and try and catch up on the work i should have been doing since the 26th.
