Introducing Connor, our fantastic Sales Manager! 🚗

Connor has been part of the Westwood family since October 2025. Having stepped straight into the motor industry after leaving school, he’s built up plenty of experience along the way! 👏

Based at our Bolton branch, Connor plays a key role in the day-to-day running of the sales team.

From helping customers find the right vehicle to supporting the team and making sure customers are well looked after throughout the sales process.

Just Yesterday, we were delighted to provide the latest additions to the MJ Civils fleet n the form of this matching pair of upgraded Transit Tippers which we dropped off at their Preston Depot.

With a tremendous amount of experience and innumerable successful projects behind them, the team at MJ's have the knowledge, capability and sale to be able to handle the broadest range of commercial and domestic projects.

When MJ's Director, Owen, approached us for a pair of tippers, he had a very specific configuration in mind. Working with our good friends Vanliners Limited, we were able to complete the task he set us, with full chapter 8, beacons, deadlocks, towbars and electrics, as well as converting the rear part of these double-cabs into tool storage bays.

It's always great to be able follow through and meet the expectations of a new customer and we hope Owen and his team will enjoy making full use of these high spec' upgraded tippers.

Yesterday, Carolyn and Tina headed over to The Brick Community Stadium for a delightful afternoon tea! 🫖🍰

The Brick put on a wonderful afternoon of fundraising to support their work in helping homelessness and poverty across the Wigan and Leigh borough, and what an afternoon it was! 🤩

The afternoon was filled with delicious finger sandwiches, sweet treats, scones, sausage rolls and pies! (a very Wigan touch to a traditional afternoon tea!🥧).

There was also live entertainment, local business stalls, raffles and games. Including some fun rounds of higher or lower!

It was lovely to see so many businesses from across the borough come together to support such an important cause. We had the pleasure of seeing Millennium Care pass over a generous donation to the brick, what a lovely touch to the afternoon!

It was so insightful to hear more about the incredible work The Brick does and their ongoing commitment to supporting people experiencing homelessness and poverty, whatever the weather! 🌧️

A huge thank you to The Brick for welcoming us along to such a lovely afternoon! 🥰

Jaguar Type 01: Three Motors, Dramatic Style and a New Direction for Electric Luxury

At Westwood, we’re always interested in cars that give people something to get excited about. The new Jaguar Type 01 certainly does that. This fully electric, four-door grand tourer combines striking proportions with a serious performance specification, marking a major change in direction for the British brand.

For us, its appeal comes down to the complete package: power, useful driving range, distinctive styling and the promise of a comfortable journey. A luxury car should feel special on the everyday drive as well as the occasional weekend away.

The Type 01’s three-motor system is one of its biggest strengths. With one electric motor at the front and two at the rear, it delivers all-wheel drive and up to 1,030 PS, alongside 1,365 Nm of torque. Intelligent torque vectoring manages how that power reaches the road, helping the car maintain traction and respond accurately through corners.

Jaguar quotes 0–62 mph in 3.2 seconds. That puts the Type 01 firmly into serious performance-car territory. From Westwood’s perspective, the everyday attraction is the potential for smooth, immediate acceleration and relaxed progress, with plenty of performance available when needed.

Range is equally important. Jaguar publishes a figure of up to 450 miles, giving the Type 01 considerable long-distance ambition. It also quotes the ability to add up to 200 miles of range in 13 minutes using suitable 350kW rapid DC charging, or charge from 10–80% in around 22 minutes. These are manufacturer figures; actual range and charging times depend on conditions, driving style, battery temperature and charger capability.

For drivers weighing up an electric car, we believe that combination deserves attention. Being able to cover substantial distances and recharge during a sensible break makes an EV easier to consider for business trips and longer journeys.

Then there’s the styling. The long bonnet, low roofline, clean bodywork and dramatic 23-inch wheels give the Type 01 an imposing presence. Its four-door layout brings an extra measure of accessibility to the grand touring shape. We like the confidence of the design. It has a strong identity, and that matters in a car you choose as much with your heart as your head.

Comfort is central to the engineering brief. Jaguar developed the new GT with the performance and refinement of its earlier cars in mind. Dynamic air suspension and active dampers are intended to absorb road imperfections while keeping the body controlled. We’ll reserve a driving verdict until we experience it ourselves, but the emphasis on a settled, comfortable ride is encouraging.

Inside, a central spine divides the cabin into four individual seating spaces. A low driving position, carefully chosen textures and a restrained colour palette give the interior a distinctive character. Published equipment includes active road-noise cancellation, front-seat hot-stone massage and a panoramic roof with adjustable shading—features designed to make time behind the wheel more relaxing.

At Westwood, we see the Type 01 as an intriguing prospect for drivers who want their next electric car to feel like an occasion. Its styling gets your attention; its performance, range and comfort ambitions give you reasons to keep looking.

If there's one thing we love about Wigan, it's the sense of community. The people, the businesses and the good causes - we all stick together and look after one another.

Our good friends Greenmount Projects and Wigan Athletic Community Trust, along with Red Tree Building Contractors Ltd have joined forces to get behind The Latics Wellbeing Walk, in support of the Kilimanjaro Mental Health Challenge, which itself supports the Game Changers Community Gym Programme.

Get booked on, get involved, have a walk, breathe the fresh air and meet some likeminded souls. With bacon butties, coffee, pizza and a raffle all provided on the day!
