Today we pay tribute to one of Wigan's true greats as we mark the passing of Wigan Warriors Legend, Sir Billy Boston OBE.

It was just over a year ago when we and the whole of Wigan witnessed Sir Billy being knighted for his services to rugby league and to the community.

A long overdue honour and truly historic moment with Sir Billy and his late wife Lady Joan being chauffeured to the Warriors vs Giants match in a classic Bentley, greeted by adoring fans, a red carpet and a Warriors victory, in order to properly celebrate his knighthood - the first ever to be awarded to a Rugby League player.

Thank you Sir Billy for being an inspiration both to the game as well as to our Town. A true Hero both on and off the pitch.

May you and Lady Joan Rest In Peace.

Today it was a tremendous pleasure to welcome Billy Aspey, the Director of Mac Construction to our Wigan Head Office in order to hand over the keys to this new Mercedes Sprinter, the latest addition to his Business' fleet, which he's taken on a three year deal.

Pictured here with out very own Operations Director Tony, Billy has opted for a few extras, such as Mac Constructions own smart livery, as well as Chapter 8 stickering, a towbar and beacons, which we were happy to arrange on his behalf, so all Billy needed to do was pick up the keys and put the van to work.

Mac Construction are a local firm and long standing customers, a family business, with over two decades in construction, Mac Construction are a company who, just like us, are proud members of the local community. They support some of our very favourite local good causes as well as working with local authorities and a number of other wonderful local businesses.

New Season, New Faces, New Designs

As we join the 'Tics in looking forward to what's sure to be a phenomenal season, we couldn't help notice a new variation of Wigan Athletic's training wear being modelled by none other that Charlie Gray - on loan from Manchester City and looking to make an impact as he gains experience in the senior game. Not forgetting Reggie Walsh, freshly arrived from Chelsea!

If Charlie's skills match his fashion sense, he's sure to go far and we're looking forward to seeing Charlie, Reggie and the rest of the team in action this season.

Best of luck to Latics and here's hoping for a spectacular game against Leyton Orient this weekend.
