Here’s a fun one out of North Carolina, USA.
Toyota Vitz, commonly known as a MK1 Yaris here in the UK, needed tuning for a HKS turbo kit. 1.0l 4 pot engine.
DET3 + 4 bar ECU in Standalone mode.
Owner Nick couldn’t get it to start or get a crank signal, so after some diagnosis over the phone and remotely from at home here in the UK, and a crude drawing of mine to help him wire it up correctly, I figured out the wiring was incorrect and so the stock ecu was seeing no crank signal.
After this, it was a case of fully writing a base map, trying to get it to fire up and then figuring out if it wanted more or less fuel on idle, as the AFR gauge won’t fire up if only running for a short period of time.
And finally, I can now present, a base tuned running turbo MK1 Yaris, courtesy of JP4 SAFI!
Remote tuning needed? Send me a message over!! I can tune anywhere in the world remotely providing you have internet connection and a laptop!
Owner is now going to try to tune the VE table and ignition tables himself, but will contact me if he wants the VE tables fully tuning to the best I can remotely!
Sick little thing this, wish we did this more here.
