🚨From 9 June, learner drivers will only be able to move their driving test to nearby test centres.

If you book a new test from this date, you will only be able to move your test to:

✅ any of the 3 centres nearest to where your test is booked

✅ the test centre you first booked at on that current booking

If you have an existing booking, the new rule will apply to where your test is booked at on 9 June – not where you first booked.

Eight people sadly lost their lives on Essex roads during April, with a further 93 suffering serious injuries in collisions across the county.

Additionally, there were:
152 mobile phone offences detected
86 seatbelt offences recorded
81 drink drive arrests
190 drug drive arrests
6,215 road safety educational courses delivered
1,101 Community Speed Watch warning letters issued

Three people lost their lives on Essex roads in March, and 61 others suffered serious injuries. Every one of these is a stark reminder of why our Vision Zero commitment matters, no death or serious injury on our roads is acceptable.

Enforcement and education activity across the county continued at pace:
• 246 mobile phone offences
• 363 seatbelt offences
• 92 drink drive arrests
• 228 drug drive arrests

Alongside this, 5,977 road safety education courses were delivered, helping to influence safer behaviours, while Community Speed Watch volunteers issued 787 warning letters to drivers.

This is a combined effort from enforcement teams, road safety partners, and communities all working together to make Essex roads safer.
