Four people lost their lives on Essex roads in August, and 73 others suffered serious injuries. Every one of these is a stark reminder of why our Vision Zero commitment matters- no death or serious injury on our roads is acceptable.
Enforcement and education activity across the county continued at pace:
π¨ 361 seatbelt offences
π¨ 171 drug drive arrests
π¨ 121 mobile phone offences
Alongside this, 8,416 road safety education courses were delivered, helping to influence safer behaviours, while Community Speed Watch volunteers issued 1,171 warning letters to drivers.
This is a combined effort from enforcement teams, road safety partners, and communities all working together to make Essex roads safer.
