FOAM ISN’T JUST FOR THE CAMERA.
In a proper wash, foam has a purpose.
The right amount of foam and the right dwell time help encapsulate and loosen dirt, dust, and road grime before the wash mitt ever touches the paint. It’s not about making the car look like it’s covered in shaving cream—it’s about creating an effective pre-wash stage.
Too little foam, and you lose part of that cleaning and lubrication benefit.
Too much foam, and you’re often just creating a visual spectacle with little additional cleaning advantage.
Thick foam doesn’t automatically mean a better wash. Thin foam doesn’t automatically mean a bad one either. What matters is the product, dilution, surface, dwell time, pressure, and—most importantly—the process.
Because detailing isn’t about creating the most satisfying foam shot for Instagram.
It’s about what happens to the paint after the foam disappears.
In our den, we wash for the car—not for the algorithm.
