There’s no better way to make the most of the summer than getting out on the water. ⛵☀️

While our team spend their working days surrounded by sailing equipment, plenty of us are just as keen to put it to use when the weekend arrives.

Here’s Pete from the Barton team enjoying some summer sailing aboard his Dart 15 catamaran at Tankerton Bay Sailing Club, with his son alongside him for the day.

Having sailors within our team means we understand the equipment we make from both sides- not simply how it should be designed and manufactured, but how it needs to perform when you’re actually out there using it.

That’s why Barton has always been by sailors, for sailors.

We hope everyone has managed to find some time on the water this summer.

A block for every job. With thousands of blocks in the Barton range, there's one built for the task, whatever you need. Behind that number is a simple idea: no two boats are rigged the same, so no single block is going to work for all of them.

They come in four materials, and each one earns its place. Wooden blocks for sailors who want traditional values and a classic look without giving up performance. Composite for light weight and low friction. Stainless steel where the loads are highest and strength is the priority. And Tufnol, built to handle high rolling loads with the strength, UV resistance and weather resistance to last for generations.

Whatever's on your deck, from a dinghy mainsheet to a heavily loaded halyard, there's something in the range for it. And it's all designed and manufactured in Whitstable, UK.

Line Tamers, designed and manufactured in Whitstable, UK, always finished by hand. British made, and staying that way.

There's a moment near the end of the process where the Barton logo goes on, and that's the bit we've filmed for you this week. It's a small job, but it's the one that turns a finished part into a piece of Barton kit.

We're starting something new from here. Every week we'll be taking you into the warehouse to show you how one of our products is actually made, from the raw material through to the last check before it's boxed. No polish, just the real thing.

So tell us what you'd like to see. Blocks, cleats, travellers, winches, whatever you've got on your boat and have always wondered about. Drop it in the comments and we'll add it to the list.

One of our team sailing out of Portsmouth Harbour, making the most of the summer weather!

Viorela sailed from Chichester round to the River Hamble. There’s a reason our gear works the way it does: we’re sailors first, and everything we make gets used by us too.

Nothing beats seeing our gear out on the water.

There’s no better proof of a high-quality product than seeing it on deck, doing its job, season after season.

Got Barton gear onboard? DM us a photo or video, we’d love to feature you!

We love seeing our gear out on the water.

There’s nothing quite like spotting a Barton Marine block, track, or fitting doing exactly what it was built for. It’s the best proof there is that our products are built to last: still going strong, trip after trip, season after season.

If you’ve got Barton Marine gear fitted on your boat, we’d love to see it! Send us a photo or video via DM and we might just feature you on our page. Whether it’s a dingy or a yacht, we want to celebrate the boats and sailors that make up our community.

Last week we showed the Boomstrut installed on a Beneteau First 21 yacht, this week, here's a much bigger example. Team Tigris’ Griffin had a Boomstrut fitted for the Round Britain and Ireland Race, one of the most demanding offshore courses out there.

From dinghy park to ocean racing, same reliable performance whatever the size of boat.

Congratulations to the team on a great result:
5th place Double Handed
7th in IRC Class 2

This Beneteau competing at Poole Regatta is carrying the same technology that's been keeping boom control rock-solid on several yachts competing in this year's Round Britain and Ireland Race.

That's the beauty of the Boomstrut, one clever piece of engineering, six sizes, built to work across the entire range of boats we sail.

Designed and made in GB, by sailors, for sailors, the Boomstrut takes the hassle out of boom support. No more topping lift dramas, no adjustments, just a flexing spring that quietly does its job, whatever size boat you're on. It's this kind of straightforward innovation that's kept Barton Marine trusted on the water for decades: practical fittings that solve real problems sailors face, tested from dinghies right up to yachts tackling some of the toughest coastal racing around Britain and Ireland.

So whether you're out for an afternoon in the dinghy or lining up for your next offshore race, there's a Boomstrut sized for your boat.

What a fantastic day at Whitstable Harbour Day!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and visited us at Barton Marine. It was brilliant to see the harbour buzzing with people and to be part of such a wonderful celebration of Whitstable Harbour’s maritime heritage and local community.

We’d also like to give a very special thank you to the Lord Mayor of Canterbury
for taking the time to visit us. It was a pleasure to welcome you, and we really appreciate you coming along and supporting such a fantastic community event.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hello and helped make the day such a memorable one. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
