Ruswarp Round: A scenic Whitby walk with river views and a pub stop. 🍻🥾 Follow the full route below. 👇

Fancy an easy walk from Whitby that feels like a proper little escape? The Whitby to Ruswarp circular walk, also known as the Ruswarp Round, is a lovely route with river views, countryside paths and a charming village stop.

Starting from Whitby Marina Back Car Park, the walk follows the River Esk, with the railway running nearby. You might even spot a steam train along the way.

A highlight of the route is passing beneath Larpool Viaduct, before continuing on to Ruswarp, where The Bridge Inn makes a great stop for a drink in the beer garden.

The return follows the historic Monks’ Trod path, signposted after Jackson’s Butchers, with peaceful countryside, wildlife spotting opportunities and views back towards Whitby from the old Cinder Track.
