🔧 Another busy week at JCS Motors NE LTD 🔧

A good mix of jobs through the workshop recently:

✅ Mercedes ML – Front discs and pads replaced with upgraded drilled and grooved discs, restoring smooth and confident braking.

✅ Audi Q2 – Came in with an intermittent oil pressure warning. After carrying out diagnostics and testing, we traced the issue to a faulty oil pressure sensor. The sensor was replaced and the vehicle was then given a full service.

✅ VW Polo – Suffered damage to the front bumper and wing. We sourced suitable replacement parts for the customer and fitted everything back up, saving them the hassle of trying to find the correct parts themselves.

⚡ We’re also investing in the future of the workshop.

We’ll shortly be away completing specialist Hybrid & Electric Vehicle training, meaning JCS Motors NE LTD will be able to safely work on, diagnose, service and repair hybrid and electric vehicles and high-voltage systems.

We’re always looking to improve what we can offer and keep up with the latest vehicle technology, so this is another big step forward for the workshop.

🔧 Another Busy Week at JCS Motors NE Ltd

A good variety of work through the workshop recently, from keeping a local parts van on the road to drivetrain and preventative engine repairs.

🚐 Motor Parts Direct – Clutch Master Cylinder Repair
We recently had one of the Motor Parts Direct Ltd vans in with a clutch fault.

After diagnosing the issue, the clutch master cylinder was replaced and the van was back on the road and ready for work again.

Always good to help keep our great parts supplier and another local automotive business moving 👍

🔧 Mercedes ML – Transfer Box Rebuild
The transfer box was removed from the vehicle, stripped down and inspected before fitting a new transfer chain.

The unit was then rebuilt, resealed, filled with fresh fluid and refitted before a final road test.

A much more cost-effective repair than replacing the complete transfer box when the rest of the unit is still in good condition.

🛠️ Vauxhall Zafira 2.0 CDTi – Oil Pickup Seal Replacement
Another important preventative repair completed on this Zafira.

The sump was removed, the oil pickup seal replaced and the pickup system cleaned before the sump was resealed and fresh engine oil and filter fitted.

These seals can deteriorate with age and allow the oil pump to draw air, potentially causing low oil pressure and expensive engine or turbo damage if left unresolved.

🔧 VW Touran 1.5 TSI – Camshaft & Valve Train Repair

A more involved job through the workshop recently on this VW Touran 1.5 TSI.

The vehicle came in with a noticeable top-end tapping noise, which after investigation was traced to worn hydraulic valve gear.

Work carried out included:

🔹 Camshaft carrier removed and inspected
🔹 Worn hydraulic followers/rockers replaced
🔹 Replacement camshaft assembly fitted
🔹 Timing belt components renewed
🔹 Camshaft timing accurately set using specialist tooling
🔹 Camshaft adjustment system checked and cleaned
🔹 Fresh engine oil and filter
🔹 Diagnostic checks and road test completed

These newer 1.5 TSI engines require the inlet and exhaust camshafts to be set accurately by angle rather than simply lining up conventional timing marks, so having the correct equipment and taking the time to verify the settings is essential.

Now running smoothly and quietly again ✅
