Great job this morning, had a customer come in with a 2017 transit custom that’s only covered 73,000 miles, and regularly serviced, complaining that he had lost his brakes, on investigation we found out that the so called wet cam belt inside the engine has deteriorated and blocked the brake vacuum pump, so one very lucky customer as the belt has not completely failed and knackered his engine, so we’re able to fix it by fitting a new cambelt kit and oil pump belt, new oil pump and vacuum pump, a new timing cover and sump as typical they are stuck on and bend when you try to remove them, it will also have a couple of engine flushes before our customer gets it back,
So the moral is don’t leave it until you loose your brakes or until it snaps or even until the ford recommended interval time as they will not last and it’s better to spend a few hundred rather than a few thousand
