TERMS & CONDITIONS

❤️ 100% FOR LOCAL CHARITY ❤️

ALL MONEY COLLECTED FROM THIS COMPETITION WILL BE DONATED TO A LOCAL CHARITY.

🎟️ 59 numbers × £20 = £1,180 for charity when all numbers are sold.

The driving package is provided separately by Drive Inverclyde and does not come out of the money raised for charity.

🎟️ ENTRY & DRAW

• Numbers 1–59 are £20 each and are confirmed once payment is received.
• The draw takes place once all 59 numbers are sold and paid for.
• The Bonus Ball from the next confirmed National Lottery Lotto draw determines the winner.
• The person holding the matching number wins the complete prize.

🏆 THE PRIZE

🪪 Provisional licence paid for, if required.
📚 Theory test paid for.
🚗 Automatic driving lessons with Drive Inverclyde from January 2027 UNTIL YOU PASS your practical driving test.
• No cash alternative and the prize cannot be sold or transferred.

✅ ELIGIBILITY

The winner must:

• Be 17+ before lessons begin and legally entitled to learn to drive in Great Britain.
• Hold, or be eligible for, a valid UK provisional licence and meet legal eyesight/medical requirements.
• Be able to safely operate the automatic tuition vehicle as provided. Unfortunately, the vehicle has no specialist adaptations or modifications.
• Be within Greenock, Gourock areas.

📅 LESSON CONDITIONS

• Lessons begin from January 2027, subject to mutually agreed availability.
• The winner must actively participate and attend lessons regularly.
• Drive Inverclyde’s normal booking and cancellation conditions apply.
• Repeated missed lessons, late cancellations or failure to participate may result in the prize being withdrawn.
• Lessons continue until you pass, provided these conditions are followed. There is no guaranteed timescale or number of lessons.

🚦 PRACTICAL TEST

• The practical test should only be taken when the learner has reached a safe test-ready standard.
• Use of the Drive Inverclyde tuition vehicle for a test is subject to the instructor being satisfied that the learner is ready.
• Practical tests remain subject to DVSA availability and rules.

⚠️ IMPORTANT

Drive Inverclyde may suspend or withdraw the prize for serious misconduct, safety concerns, repeated non-attendance or failure to comply with these conditions.

You will be fully supported throughout your learning journey, helping you build the skills, confidence and experience to become a safe, independent driver.

✅ WHO CAN ENTER?

The winner must:

✔️ Be 17+ and legally eligible to learn to drive in the UK
✔️ Hold, or be eligible for, a UK provisional licence
✔️ Live within the Drive Inverclyde area — Greenock, Gourock, Wemyss Bay, Skelmorlie and surrounding areas
✔️ Be available to start lessons from January 2027
✔️ Commit to attending lessons at mutually agreed times
✔️ Be able to safely operate the vehicle without specialist adaptations, unfortunately car doesn’t have these.

📅 LESSON CONDITIONS

Lessons will be arranged with Drive Inverclyde and are subject to reasonable availability.

The winner must show 100% commitment, attend booked lessons and give reasonable notice of any cancellations or changes.

Continued missed or cancelled lessons may affect the continuation of the prize.

Lessons will continue until the winner passes their practical test, provided all competition conditions and commitments continue to be met.

🚗 THE TOP 5 REASONS PEOPLE FAIL THEIR DRIVING TEST! 🚗

And here’s something important to remember…

❌ IT’S NOT THE GEARBOX!

Manual or Automatic — the same fundamental driving skills are being assessed. Changing from a manual to an automatic doesn’t magically fix poor observations, planning or decision-making.

Here are 5 of the biggest reasons learners fail:

🔴 1️⃣ OBSERVATIONS AT JUNCTIONS
Not properly checking what’s happening before emerging, turning or joining a road can quickly lead to a serious fault.

🔴 2️⃣ MIRRORS & BLIND SPOTS
Failing to check mirrors at the right time, especially before changing direction, speed or position.

🔴 3️⃣ POOR POSITIONING
Incorrect lane positioning at junctions and roundabouts, or drifting into the wrong lane.

🔴 4️⃣ SPEED & PLANNING
Approaching hazards too quickly, failing to anticipate what’s ahead, or not adjusting your speed appropriately.

🔴 5️⃣ REACTING TO HAZARDS
Not recognising developing hazards early enough — whether that's pedestrians, cyclists, parked vehicles, junctions or other road users.

🚘 So, does manual or automatic make a difference?

Of course, the car feels different to drive. An automatic removes clutch control and gear changes, which can make things easier for some learners.

BUT…

👉 It doesn't remove the need for good observations.

👉 It doesn't fix bad positioning.
👉 It doesn't make you automatically better at roundabouts.
👉 And it certainly doesn't guarantee a pass!

Whether you're learning in a manual or automatic, the examiner is still looking for a safe, competent and independent driver.
