It’s always wonderful to receive feedback from our park community! 🌿

Steve and Ann recently spent two weeks with us at Oakwood Valley Lodges and sent over these lovely words about our grounds and local nature:

"We have recently spent two weeks at Oakwood and wanted to let you know how good the 'dog field' and the top pond are.

The way you are managing this area is excellent for both the way it looks and for wildlife. The pond is teeming with life, including newts and many species of dragonfly and damselfly. The wildflowers are beautiful and we haven’t seen so many butterflies in years! We counted 7 or 8 species of butterfly, and many moth species.

We also wanted to say that everyone involved in the management of the area should be proud of what you have created. We look forward to seeing how it develops over time."

Our grounds team works hard to keep the park looking its best while keeping local wildlife happy, so hearing this means the world to us! 🦋🌳

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, head to Welshpool for its 1940s Weekend, 25th–27th September 2026!

The town will be transported back to the 1940s, with plenty to see and enjoy, including:

🚙 Vintage vehicles
🎺 Live music & entertainment
💃 Dancing in the streets
🎖️ Friendly 1940s re-enactors
🛍️ Stalls and plenty of food
📸 Lots of photo opportunities

It’s a free event taking place in and around the town centre, making it easy to wander between the entertainment, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a taste of the 1940s. Why not dress up and get into the spirit of the weekend?

"Coming to Oakwood Valley Lodges has been the best decision we have made as we've found it has so much to offer. Its tranquil location is both relaxing and abundant with wildlife, whilst just a short car ride away there is still plenty to see and explore if we fancy a change.

The park is maintained to an exceptionally high standard by on-site staff who are always friendly and happy to help. The big bonus for us is the dog walking facilities and the wildlife ponds - what more could you ask for, well nothing as far as we're concerned.

The Williams group have gone a long way to making our holiday home the perfect retreat."
