Day 3 in Project: WTF have i got myself into!

Today i have been measuring and drawing.
Trying to design a fuel tank to fit the space i have, but also to include baffles and a pick up pot/area.

The plan is to use a single hp pump mounted rigidly to a detatchable lid in the top middle of the tank.
This pump will pick up from the pot at the bottom middle on the tank.
The lid will also carry the return line feeding fuel back into the pot at the bottom middle of the tank.
Also it will carry my fuel level sender.

I am thinking to have the base slope slightly from each side to a square base area where the pick pot is located.
Then have 2 front to back baffle plates one each side of the pick up area with trapdoors in them to keep fuel in the mid area and prevent sloshing away from it.

Day 2 in Project: WTF have i got myself into!

Today i have mostly been cutting and filing aluminium to make a 12mm spacer for the Blinkstop steering wheel button plate.
It now fits quite well i think.
The buttons are in easy reach and i have a little more space to not catch my fingers between the plate and wheel.
Just need to get some longer High Tensile screws.

Then took off the Malpassi fuel pressure regulator and filter.

I am going to try and keep a bit of a diary going on here of the work i do on my car.

Today has been the start of the upcoming winter upgrades my Westy.

The plan is to fit Jenvey Throttlebodies, Electronic Ignition, Standalone Emerald ECU, design a Fuel Tank. Then fit and wire everything. I have done quite a bit of research into this and chosen what i think is the right setup for my car and budget.
Given that i will be doing to fitting this is still not a cheap option, but it should give me the reliability, power, look and sound i am looking for and maybe a bit better mpg to boot🙄😁

I also have a Blinkstop Free Wheel to fit that i have picked up second hand 😬 so that'll be an extra little side job.

This is all going to be a challenge, but it started today with the stripdown.
So i have taken a few pics hope you like 😀
