🏁 Racing is ON next weekend! 🏁

You read that right! We are back! 😁

Round 8 of our Summer season will take place next Sunday (6th Sept)

Work is continuing in the background to get the track back in tip top shape for racing 💪🏻

We are still in the process of sorting the club's banking, so as it stands it'll be cash on the day, but please book in if you intend to come so we can prepare the heats for Sunday morning! 🙏🏻 Cut off for booking in is Thursday evening. You can turn up on the day, but we'd prefer booking in early if possible 👍🏻

✅ MORE PROGRESS MADE ️✅️

Good afternoon racers!

We're delighted to show you more progress towards the repairs/improvements made at our facility in anticipation of our next meeting on Sunday 6th September! Details regarding booking in will follow this week!

* Worst areas of damage around the track have been repaired so the track is racable 💪🏻
* De-weeding continues with the main straight and pit lane now completely cleared and looking fantastic! 👍🏻
* Welding started on the rostrum to close the holes and stop water dripping on us during races! 🙌🏻
* Toilets fully serviced and cleaned 👌🏻
* Guttering on rostrum now feeds some IBC containers to give us a supply of water for track management 💧
* Containers/storage and Race Control tidied and organised 😎

Some photos below show the progress made over the last couple of weeks, its been hard work but worth it when we have a great track to race on in a fortnight's time 😁

There's always lots to do and some of the committee will be up again this week to continue the work 🔧 if you have any time to spare and help out over the next few days then please let us know 🙏🏻

We're looking forward to welcoming everyone back to Blackpool for some last racing before the end of the season 🏁

🛠 TRACK UPDATES 🛠

Good evening racers!

We're busy working hard in the background to get the racing back up and running as soon as we can!

⚠️ We have a work date set this weekend on Saturday, any and all help would be appreciated! So if you can spare an hour or two we can make the final push to make the track racable again ⚠️

Our next race meeting will be Sunday 6th September. We'll let you know when booking in is open as there are a few more things we need in place before we can take payments.

We also wanted to give everyone an update on progress so far!

- Track fully weeded and grass cut, site tidy up.
- New locks/security for containers and storage
- Arranged for toilets to be fully cleaned and disinfected
- Started a website overhaul

We've also made enquiries about replacing the toilets with newer ones. Spoken about utilising the astro track over winter. Updated the landowner with the recent changes and approved our plans with them.

Its all back end work that is hardly shown in person, but essential to the maintenance/running of the club.

We'd like to thank everyone who's given us support so far! We hope to bring you a fantastic venue in Blackpool once again!

Good evening everyone!

There has been a lot of action in a few days with our club so we wanted to provide an update for all our members and racers to give clarity moving forward!

An Emergency General Meeting was held at the track on Saturday afternoon to decide a new committee and an action plan for the club for the rest of 2026 and into 2027.

Minutes for this meeting can be provided to members at request. The key changes are outlined below -

Chairman - A new chairman was proposed and voted in, the new chairman is James Hargreaves

Vice Chairman - Likewise a new VC was voted in with Mick Townsend taking the post.

Secretary and Treasurer - These roles will continue to be filled by Matt Skinner and Keiran Wayman respectively to help ensure a smooth transition during this period.

An action plan was formed to tackle the track and facility, bringing it back up to a standard that's raceable and get some race meetings in before winter joins us. Stay tuned for an updated calendar in the next dew days. We're hoping to get a race meeting up and running for the 23rd August, but this depends on progress with track repairs and general site maintenance.

We'd like to thank the outgoing committee members for their time and committment to the club and we hope we can make NWN not just the best club in the north, but the whole country!

Please bear with us as things settle down, we are aiming to be as transparent and communicative as possible with progress ensureing all our members are aware of whats happening!
