Mercedes-Benz Engine Rebuild Completed!

This Mercedes-Benz came in with serious engine issues, so we performed a full rebuild. Here’s what we did:

✅ Engine Removal & Disassembly – Removed the engine, stripped it down, and inspected all components.
✅ Machining & Cleaning – Resurfaced the cylinder head, honed cylinders, and cleaned all parts.
✅ New Parts Installed – Replaced piston rings, bearings, gaskets, valves, timing chain, oil pump, and seals.
✅ Reassembly & Installation – Put everything back together, torqued to spec, and reinstalled the engine.
✅ Testing & Tuning – First startup, fluid checks, and a successful test drive!

An antifreeze, or coolant, leak can be serious and cause major engine damage if left unaddressed. Here are some signs that your car may have a coolant leak:

Sweet smell: A sweet smell coming from under the hood after you turn off the car

Puddles: A puddle of coolant under the car that is blue-green, pink, orange, or lime-green in color

Overheating: The car's temperature gauge rises, or the coolant or "check engine" dashboard lights come on

Low coolant: The coolant level is low

Some common causes of coolant leaks include:
A blown radiator
A damaged head gasket
A faulty radiator cap
A hose leak
A worn down impeller shaft seal or blades
Internal coolant pressure issues

To find the source of the leak, you can:
Warm up the car
Park it on a flat, clean, dry surface
Turn off the car and let it cool down
Look for puddles of coolant under the car
Check the radiator, radiator cap, and hoses for signs of leakage

You should have an experienced mechanic fix the leak. The cost to fix a coolant leak can range from £50 to over £1,000, depending on the severity of the leak.
