A routine timing belt change on this DS3 was recommended by us just in time!

The issue is the timing belt runs inside the engine oil (“wet belt”), and on many engines the belt degrades earlier than expected. When it starts breaking down:

* rubber particles contaminate the oil
* oil pickup can block
* loss of oil pressure can happen
* engine damage can become very expensive

The worst affected are generally the earlier 1.2 PureTech engines from around 2014–2020.

Common warning signs:

* low oil pressure warnings
* rattling on startup
* excessive oil consumption
* misfires
* belt debris found during servicing

So if you have a Citroën, Peugeot, and Vauxhall with this PureTech engine and you haven’t had your belt changed yet, we recommend you get it booked in 🚗 🔧
