We are looking for another Technician/MOT tester to join our team

The ideal person must have at least 10yr+ post qualification experience

We are an independent garage that repairs, services, maintains and MOT’s on all make a and models of cars, vans and motorhomes and therefore ideally we are looking for candidates with a broad experience to include, diagnostics, fault finding and AC repairs.

Hybrid experience would be good but not essential..

This is a permanent position Monday to Friday with a good salary for the successful applicant.

The government has announced this week that it plans to stop issuing extensions to cars and light commercial vehicles from the 1st August 2020.

This means that all vehicles will now require a normal scheduled MOT from this date! MOT testing up to that date remains optional as any extensions applied will still be valid.

To all our Customers:

We remain open as per the Government’s recent update to carry out Repairs, Servicing and MOT’s. In regards to MOT’s, any vehicle whose MOT expires after the 30th March 2020 will be given a 6 month extension which will extend your current MOT expiry date by 6 months only.

Clarks have implemented a ‘zero contact’ procedure to protect both our staff and customers in this worrying time.

This involves the following:

• Customers/visitors/delivery drivers will not be allowed in either the workshop or the reception for the foreseeable future.
• Customers should put their Keys into an envelope with the name and registration and deposited through the letterbox found on the reception door. The keys will be sanitised before use and re sanitised before replacing into an envelope to return to the customer. We will confirm with each customer how the keys will be returned.
• Our mechanics/MOT Tester already use car seat covers, gloves and floor mats as standard procedure, however, we will be ensuring that fresh gloves are worn for each and every vehicle and steering wheels, gear sticks and door handles will be sanitised whilst in the workshop and disposable steering wheel covers will also be used.
• Invoices will be emailed where possible to the customers and payment at this time will be via card payment over the phone. No cash will be accepted at this time to prevent cross infection.
• The staff will be carrying out regular handwashing also.

We have been requested by DVSA not to print off MOT Certificates but to direct our customers to ‘Check my MOT’ online where there is the facility to reprint.

We will continue to take as many precautions as possible to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus and thank you for your continued custom.

Good morning everyone, please be advised that Clarks will remain open for the time being to ensure that we can continue to serve our customers.

However, we will be operating on a zero contact basis which means that our reception and workshop will be closed to our customers and the transactions with keys etc will be operated via the letterbox.

Keys for your vehicles are to be deposited through the letterbox in an envelope with your registration and or surname.

The staff within the workshop and office will be maintaining a high level of sanitisation to ensure the safety of both themselves and our customers. 

Payments for work done will be taken over the phone and where possible your invoices will be either sent to your phone or to email.

We will be making contact with the customers currently booked in over the next two weeks to explain this new procedure to them and will continue to operate within the office as normal but with a much higher level of zero contact.
