9 TESTS. 9 FIRST-TIME PASSES. WHAT A WEEK! 🚗

Another week comes to an end at Drive It School of Motoring, and this is one we’re particularly proud of…

🏆 9 car learners took their driving tests this week.
🥇 ALL 9 PASSED FIRST TIME!

That’s nine people who started the week as learner drivers and are ending it with a full driving licence and a whole new level of freedom and independence ahead of them.

And while we love celebrating the passes, for us it’s about much more than the result on test day.

It’s about helping our learners develop the confidence to make their own decisions, deal safely with the unexpected and become drivers who are genuinely ready for life on the road without an instructor sitting beside them.

A massive CONGRATULATIONS to all nine of this week’s first-time passers. You’ve worked hard, listened, learned and delivered when it mattered. Enjoy that licence - you’ve earned it!

And, of course, a huge well done to our brilliant Drive It instructors too. Another week of fantastic coaching and some very proud instructors!

"I couldn’t recommend anyone more then Jon he was so calm and patient the whole way through and his teaching and advice has really helped me get my first time pass what really came to me during my test when I approached a roundabout in the wrong lane and I remembered what Jon had said to me “what is my safest option here” what helped with my decision on my test to go the whole way round the roundabout and then exit on the second time round so without Jon’s help and teaching I definitely would not have passed I can’t thank him enough 😁

On another note to any future learners taking the driving test commentate you way through the test and if your instructor advices you to take some extra lessons (what Jon advised to me)spend the extra money and do so it is worth it!"

Drive It Like Ryan! 💥

Another brilliant result for Drive It School of Motoring - a huge congratulations to Ryan from Bridgwater, who has passed his driving test FIRST TIME following some fantastic coaching and preparation with Drive It Andy!

Ryan's test certainly gave him an unexpected challenge when, thanks to the scorching weather, the examiner's Sat Nav decided it had had enough and gave up!

With the technology no longer playing ball and Ryan ending up going the wrong way, it would have been very easy for the pressure of the situation to take over.

But Ryan remembered exactly what Andy had coached him...

Going the wrong way doesn't matter - making an unsafe decision to correct it does.

So rather than panic, rush or attempt to get himself back on route at all costs, Ryan stayed calm, concentrated on his driving and kept everything safe. He dealt with the situation independently, got himself back on route and carried on with his test.

And that's exactly the sort of decision-making we want to see!

Learning to drive isn't about memorising routes or following a Sat Nav perfectly. It's about being able to deal safely with the unexpected when things don't quite go according to plan - because that's exactly what happens in real-world driving.

Ryan showed he could do just that and went on to PASS FIRST TIME with flying colours, topped off with some great comments from his examiner at the end of the test! 👏

Drive It Like Tyler! 💥

A huge congratulations to Tyler from Minehead, who has passed his driving test FIRST TIME after some fantastic coaching and preparation with Drive It Jon!

And this pass came with some particularly brilliant feedback from the examiner, who described Tyler’s test as…

“A really enjoyable drive.”

That’s a fantastic compliment and says a lot about the safe, confident and controlled standard Tyler demonstrated throughout his test.

But one moment during the drive really showed exactly what learning to drive is all about.

On the approach to a busy roundabout, Tyler realised he was in the wrong lane for the exit he needed. It’s the sort of situation that can easily cause a learner to panic, make a rushed lane change or try to force their way back into the correct position.

Instead, Tyler remembered Jon’s wise words from his lessons - don’t panic, keep it safe and run with it!

So that’s exactly what he did.

Rather than making a risky last-minute correction, Tyler safely continued around the roundabout, went all the way around and then took the exit he needed the second time around.

Problem solved. Safely. Independently.

That decision is a perfect example of why we teach skills for life, not simply how to pass a driving test. Things won’t always go exactly to plan when you’re driving independently - what matters is recognising the situation, staying calm and making the safest decision.

Tyler did exactly that, and the examiner clearly appreciated the standard of his driving.

Drive It Like Mabast! 💥

Another fantastic FIRST TIME PASS to celebrate - this time for Mabast from Wells, following some brilliant coaching and support from Drive It Caroline!

Mabast has put in the work throughout his lessons, steadily developing the skills, confidence and judgement needed to become a safe and independent driver. Caroline has helped him prepare not simply for the driving test, but for everything that comes afterwards when there is no instructor sitting beside you.

And when the big day arrived, Mabast delivered!

Despite all the nerves that naturally come with a driving test, he kept his concentration, trusted what he had learned and demonstrated exactly what was needed to earn that all-important result…

✅ PASSED FIRST TIME!

But it didn’t end there. Mabast’s examiner followed up the result with some excellent comments about his driving, which is always fantastic to hear and makes a first-time pass even more rewarding. Just watch that heavy right foot and keep alert for new speed signs.

Examiner feedback like that is a real credit to Mabast’s hard work and determination, as well as the quality of coaching and preparation he has received from Drive It Caroline.

A massive WELL DONE to Mabast from Caroline and everyone at Drive It School of Motoring. Another learner ready to ditch the L plates and enjoy the freedom and independence that comes with a full driving licence!
