Cummins Onan 17.5kW Generator Installation – A Challenging Job Made Simple!
When this customer approached us for a quotation to replace his ageing Northern Lights generator with a new Cummins Onan 17.5kW unit, he was delighted to learn that we could complete the installation without cutting a large access hole in the deck above.
Other companies quoting for the work had advised that cutting into the vessel’s structure and fully dismantling the generator would be unavoidable.
As a Cummins Onan specialist main dealer, we know that dismantling a generator is perfectly achievable without compromising the equipment, but it adds considerable labour time and expense to an already substantial job.
By taking precise measurements and carefully planning the removal and installation, we developed a method that avoided any structural alterations to the vessel and required only the removal of the generator’s outer sound shields.
Using our experience, engineering expertise and specialist lifting equipment, we successfully removed the old generator and installed the new Cummins Onan unit.
