I'd like to let all my customers know that D.R. Mobile Mechanic Services is now closed while I take some time away on paternity leave to welcome our new arrival.

I'll be unavailable and unable to respond to messages or take bookings until September and apologies if you have reached out within the week and had no reply.

I'd like to thank all my customers for your continued support, patience and understanding. It really is appreciated, and I look forward to getting back to helping you with all your vehicle repairs and servicing when I return.

This beautiful Mercedes-Benz E220 AMG was booked in for a brake inspection after the customer noticed a warning light illuminated on the dashboard.

Following an inspection at the customer's home, I identified that the front brake discs, brake pads and wear sensor had reached the end of their service life and required replacement.

✅ Premium quality front brake discs fitted
✅ Premium brake pads installed
✅ New wear sensor fitted
✅ Warning light cleared
✅ Full brake system safety check completed

With this AMG's larger performance braking setup, it's essential that quality parts are used to maintain both stopping power and safety. The vehicle is now braking exactly as it should and ready for many more miles.

Following diagnosis, found the radiator was leaking, causing a complete loss of coolant. Fortunately, the customer stopped driving as soon as the warning appeared and topped it up with enough coolant to get home safely, preventing any further damage.

✅ Refilled with fresh coolant
✅ Fully bled the cooling system

🔧 Ford Transit Connect – Back Up & Running 🔧

This Ford Transit Connect was broken down at home, leaving the customer stuck and unable to get on with their day 🚐❌

The customer reported a grinding noise when turning the key, followed by just a clicking sound a strong sign the starter motor had failed.

After carrying out diagnostics, I confirmed the starter motor was indeed the issue. Luckily, I came prepared with a replacement part on hand, saving time and getting things sorted without delay ⏱️

The old unit was removed and a brand new starter motor supplied and fitted on-site.

✅ Fault diagnosed quickly
✅ New starter motor fitted
✅ Van starting perfectly again

🔧 Vauxhall Astra – Warning Light & Exhaust Repair 🔧

This Vauxhall Astra came in with an engine warning light illuminated on the dash 🚨

On initial inspection, I could immediately hear the exhaust blowing. A closer look revealed a failed centre flexi pipe and with the rest of the system showing heavy corrosion and pitting, the customer opted for a full exhaust replacement from the catalytic converter backwards.

Due to the condition, the old exhaust had to be cut out in sections to remove it safely 🔩✂️

I then fitted a brand new exhaust system along with a bank 2 lambda sensor to ensure everything was running as it should.

✅ Warning light resolved
✅ Exhaust system restored
✅ Smooth, quiet drive — no more “boy racer” soundtrack 😅
