😳 THIS is what can be hiding inside your BMW’s engine…
This BMW 530D came into the workshop with an engine light on and running rough. We carried out some diagnostics using ISTA and found heavy carbon build-up on the intake valves were causing the issue — so we gave it a full “Decoke” using walnut blasting. 🔧💨
On direct-injection engines, fuel doesn’t wash over the back of the intake valves, meaning carbon deposits can gradually build up over time.
We removed the intake manifold and walnut blasted each intake port, stripping away the deposits and leaving the valves and ports thoroughly cleaned. Removed the EGR cooler and deep cleaned, throughly cleaned the intake manifold and replaced all required sensors. 👌
Heavy carbon build-up can contribute to rough running, hesitation, reduced performance and poor throttle response.

✅ Reassembled and checked
✅ EGR cooler deep cleaned
✅ All required Sensors replaced
