The family W211 wagon getting some TLC, after a trip to Taunton we got an air suspension warning.

A couple of days passed and the rear end began sagging and not lifting on demand.

Tested the air lines, air springs & it appeared the air compressor to be the culprit. With a new one fitted the suspension jumped to life, raised up and levelled out.

Whilst in the NSF corner we also repaired the leaking screen-wash bottle o-rings 👍🏼

Curing the ABS fault on the BMW 1 Series, I’m not going to mess around with cheap replacement reluctor rings.

If I have to wrestle out the old drive shaft I might as well fit a fresh new one. The original one had covered 160k miles after all.

Who knows how long it’s been since the last oil change.

This oil has congealed into sludge.

The old Tdi Polo 6KV clicked over to 230k & chugging on daily.

That’s it, she all done and MOT’d ready for the road.

Just needs a good valet & it’s good to go.

£800 ono takes it away. 1.9 TiD, 6spd Manual.

Saab 9-3 wagon update.

Final replacement parts getting bolted on to the Swede.

New rear upper control arms & swapping out a snapped front coil spring.

This thing handles much better around corners & doesn’t wallow around them.

The Swede gets new rear brake calipers, pads and hoses.

Was very disappointed to hear that the previous owner had the rear brakes “serviced” by a local Saab specialist last year & I found poorly fitted caliper sliding pins on both sides that weren’t central & crossthreaded. This caused uneven wear of the pads & no mention of the rusty brake hose ferrules.

After driving it around for a week you become tuned into the knocks and rattles so a complete set of front & rear anti-roll bar drop links & D-bushes are fitted.

Also one for the front suspension arms had failed the mot & needed replacing.

New car in for flipping, mot failure in need of lots of new parts.

Failed on rear brakes, ARB link & D-bushes, suspension arms front and rear.

Some long needed TLC for this SAAB 9-3 TiD - for sale soon!
