Another busy week comes to an end with a little clutch replacement on a fiat 500.

We are now offering the service of timing belt replacement on the Ford 1.0 eco boost and 2.0 eco blue engines.

The package includes Dayco timing and oil pump belt, belt tensioner, water pump (optional), drive belt and relevant seals/gaskets. Cleaning out the oil pump strainer, sump, turbo oil feed filter and vac pump filter.

After a few missed events, Allen automotive is back in Belgium, on the spanner’s and helping keep Scott and Bill out on the stages. Best of luck guys.

This weekend Scott Barnes and Bill Paynter return to the stages in the Peugeot 106 Rallye at the Rally Van Staden. The event is new to the Flanders International Rally Challenge although the team have some experience as Bill finished 10th overall on the event last year driving the Subaru.
Scott will be looking to get back on the scoreboard in the Peugeot after a non-finish on the Rally Van Wervik. The team will face fierce competition with a number of Belgiums top crews taking on the event, also a packed FIRC entry list, including last years champion Rene Walraven who is hiring a Mats Van Den Brand M3 for the event 😍 The event consists of 12 stages on the Sunday covering a total of 137 competitive kilometers. Scott and Bill are seeded at car number 25 out of a total of 114 entries.

Lovely little Alfa Romeo 2000 got some preventative maintenance from us. The Carburettor rubber mounts were perished and ready to cause an air leak in the near future.

We carried out a conversation to aluminium mounts and included a new carburettor mounting kit. That utilises Thackery washers to keep the carburettors free from engine vibrations.

The customer also reported some popping back from the carbs. Which indicates a slightly lean fuel mixture. After some ignition timing checks, carburettor balancing and fuel mixture ajustement. This little Alfa is running much smoother than before.

This week Allen Automotive was invited to the highlands of Scotland. To help out The Light Car Company on one of their clients tours.
Just under 1000 miles of Scottish countryside covered in some beautiful classic and modern vehicles.

As expected with old cars some mechanical issues appeared, From water pump failures to wheel splitting pot holes. We were on hand to keep the clients cars going.

2013 VW Transporter in today for a full service, timing belt and water pump replacement.

BMW 125i Starter motor replacement. Nice little job once removing the inlet manifold for access.

We also replaced the tired old convertible roof at the same time. Lots of striping out interior bits, hydraulic lines and electrics. Unfortunately the camera man forgot to actually take photos.

After a tricky start and stage stoppages due to a number of big accidents, Scott and Andy finished strong and brought home a great result yesterday finishing a fine 13th overall in the 106 Rallye. They bagged first in class on the event, and 4th overall in the FIRC standings behind two Rally 2 cars and the overall historic winner in a brand new Mats car. Great day out for the team and a strong start to the season.
