Pulling apart the thermostat housing on our Berliet GBU 15 Tracteur d'Artillerie. Suspect it has something to do with the engine not getting hot enough.

Indeed after much prying, we looked inside there seems to be a sealing ring out of position, likely causing the water to flow through to the radiator and cooling it down prematurely. Now that's back in place the thermostat will hopefully function properly!
