Back to work with plenty to get on with, had a defender 110 in for some welding to the footwells. Isolated rust so cut out and flush fit new panels. Bit of paint and many years of service remain for this bulkhead.

Had a lovely series 3 in last week for some steering problems, after tightening up a few loose fixings it was found the steering box had no oil in it. Putting oil in showed up a leak from the cover plate so removed the plate and cleaned up the faces, made up a new gasket for it and reassembled with new oil ready for many more miles of service.

Had a freelander 2 in for a Haldex service this week. This one was quite bad and needed some persuasion to start working...

Had a freelander 2 in for a Haldex service this week. This one was quite bad and needed some persuasion to start working correctly again once done but seems to of been a success in the end. This is something that landrover never specified as a service item but should be done atleast every 40,000 miles to keep the 4WD in good health.

Been a bit absent from the world of facebook due too being so busy but going to try and make some effort to change that....

Been a bit absent from the world of facebook due too being so busy but going to try and make some effort to change that. A few transfer box rebuilds to do recently and one had the casings soda blasted which made a nice job of it. One i have done a ratio change to using an ashcroft kit and new bearings throughout. The other had suffered from a bearing failure so just a rebuild on that one.

Sorry for any unanswered calls and messages i been away picking up a new toy for Andy Richards. The old discovery has been running non stop for 16 hours today and munched up 750 miles without missing a beat. Fair to say we're both ready for bed. Back to work tomorrow! 😁

Got some interesting jobs on the go recently, had a 200tdi 90 in for a replacement gearbox. Having had an Ashcroft lt77 fitted thats lasted 2 years before becoming fairly undrivable we have opted for a r380 'shorty' as a direct replacement that should see many years of good service and less crunchy gear changes. A new LOF clutch was fitted due to the clutch pressure plate being worn by the release bearing to finish the job right. Also had a hub rebuild to do and now starting another bulkhead replacement so plenty to keep busy.
