Lovely little Octavia in with me for a particle filter fault. O2 sensor was dead on this one, which causes the DPF to not even attempt regeneration (something which should happen behind the scenes without you knowing usually)

☑️ O2 sensor replaced
☑️ DPF successfully regenerated (which had a soot content of 72g! 😳)
☑️ Soot content now at a healthy 5g with little to no back-pressure at idle, how it should be 😎

One from today: customer had asked me to replace crank sensor wiring due to a long start and low power fault - diagnosed by another mechanic. The customer was also told they had fitted a new crank sensor. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case. I was greeted with an old, damaged sensor, which looked like a failed attempt of removal. With the wiring loom and plug all intact, a new sensor was sourced, supplied and fitted. Problem solved 👌

Nice little job this morning. EGR valve renewal due to lack of power and hesitation, diagnosed on a previous visit. These older Kia’s can be tricky, with no EML or DTCs to go off of, logging MAF readings on live data was the only way to tell on this one.

☑️ EGR valve renewed
☑️ Reset MAF values
☑️ Road test to confirm fault has been rectified

One from the other day: Hyundai i30 with what seemed like a bad steering column UJ… upon digging a bit deeper, the power steering motor coupler bushing had completely disintegrated! New spare part from the main dealer and steering motor re-assembled, saving the customer £££ on a new steering column!

☑️ Steering motor coupler renewed
☑️ Steering angle sensor recalibrated
