For many weeks now here at Minnows we have not allowed disposable BBQ’s. The Fire and Rescue Service has advised us again to remind everyone of the dangers of these
* can cause grass fires if not properly extinguished, particularly in the hot, dry weather which they are currently experiencing
* may allow wind to carry hot ash or embers towards accommodation or dry vegetation
* can remain extremely hot for several hours
* continue to give off carbon monoxide, making them dangerous in awnings or other enclosed spaces
* can leave the ground dangerously hot after removal
* pose risks to wildlife and create unnecessary waste.
Any other cooking equipment can be used on stone on the pitch, on the condition that they are raised, and please be vigilant.
The National Fire Chiefs Council report that England and Wales have been struck by 1,017 wildfires so far this year !!!!
Let’s keep everyone safe and ease the pressure off the Fire Services.
Thank you ###
