Today is the day. The RS Recovery team are taking on the Great Birmingham Run 2026.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our posts and supported us over the last few weeks. Thanks to your incredible support, we have now raised close to £1,500 for The Albion Foundation .

Good luck to everybody running today. Whether you are chasing a PB, running for charity or taking on a personal challenge, enjoy the day and soak up the atmosphere across Birmingham.

We are just over a week away from the Great Birmingham Run on 3rd May and the RS Recovery team are nearly ready.

The support so far has been brilliant and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has already donated. Now we are aiming for one last push to go even further.

We are raising funds for The Albion Foundation, supporting vital programmes across the community including mental health, education and disability sport.

RS Recovery is taking on the Great Birmingham Run 2026!

On 3rd May 2026, a group of our RS Recovery colleagues will be joining thousands of runners across the city to take part in the Great Birmingham Run, raising funds for The Albion Foundation.

The Albion Foundation delivers outstanding community programmes across the region, supporting education, disability sport, mental health initiatives and outreach projects that make a genuine difference to local people. We’re proud to support the impact they create and to play our part in helping these initiatives grow.

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Ray Avery. Our thoughts are with Ray’s family during this incredibly difficult time.

Anyone who had the privilege of meeting Ray will know he was as genuine as they come — one of the most kind‑hearted people we’ve ever known.

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”
Ray’s gift was his kindness, and he gave it freely to everyone he met.

He will continue to live on in the memories and hearts of all of us who were lucky enough to know him.

Rest in peace, my friend.
